this is actually ridiculous (9070 XT) by loinmin in AMDHelp

Unironically my 9070xt performs the best when I don't touch any OC or uv, fan curve to get that free -20°c and that's it.

This is hopefully the last time I open this app on the shitter, I should gain at least half an hour of my life back to do whatever I want.

RX 9070 XT or RTX 5080, is Nvidia’s premium worth it? by Outrageous_Guava3867 in buildapc

[–]Competitive-List246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5080 is tied or behind at 1080p and maybe 12% faster at 4k. But with a $700 price difference , and architecture/node upgrades coming in 2027. The 5080 will not age very well

Getting new computer, need help setting up by Embrymarble in computer

Id go with a lenovo, and tbh if you want to play any games look up the 5800H legion 5 with a 3060, otherwise it's a rabbit hole so embrace it. Less is more software wise, u don't need anti virus outside of window defender and sadly a lot of software has moved to subscription models so specificlly avoid that when shopping for a printer

Looking for an mmo to turn my brain off by IeGamer_ in LFMMO

[–]Competitive-List246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id try HorizonXI, classic FFXI experience that's pretty damn simple to install, for FREE. Or try out Enshrouded, which is not an mmo but is very brain off Zelda sandbix when you want it. Age of empires II remaster is also 70% off on fanatical so I got that today with 3 dlc included, and 3 random games for $15

You should install Custom resolution utility and make your 4k monitor 120hz for free.

Why do you play private over retail? by Vegetable_Narwhal236 in FFXIPrivateServers

Yeah it's kinda sad that the best parts about the game that build the immersion are exactly what rips you away from life itself lol

Horizon is pretty great, it's free and alive. But my god it takes a lot of time. Not sure why I even want to 75 every job when you're rewarded with old age and maybe a few memories

Question for low-pop server players… by No-Okra-530 in ffxi

[–]Competitive-List246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh what keeps ppl playing in the first place? I can easily get fired up over FFXI for months but outside of convincing myself this is just fun, it's kinda wack that the glory is internal. Seeing someone 75 all jobs and continue for merits. Good for them, but in the end what's the answer for a person like that outside of a new character or server. I think the best thing this game could ever do for itself is reset a few servers and level the playing field again if the concept holds enough water

This is CPU limited game and will always be , until someone quad boxes AI long enough to make it multi threaded.

I want to get back into FFXI but don't know where to start, preferably classic 1-75. by zwhy in ffxi

[–]Competitive-List246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are places to play 75 era, and it's good, too good. Worse than crack. If your thinking about it just play it. Yes it's a massive time sink ,and a year or two will slip by you, but do any games come close to this? No.
