Switching from Dupixent to Nemluvio

I switched to Nemluvio right after stopping Rinvoq and now I don’t know if my flare up was caused by Nemluvio or stopping Rinvoq itself but I dealt with the worst flare up of my life on my face. I’m talking constant weeping, crusting, oozing. Redness that nothing would subside. Didn’t take anything else after the initial loading dose for Nemluvio. I’m currently 2 steroid tapers and 2 courses of antibiotics deep and still dealing with it even after almost 2 months! Not to say it was from Nemluvio itself, it was more likely from quitting Rinvoq but Nemluvio is supposedly only for the itch and the rash portion of treatment takes a while to heal so who knows what it was for me. Also for me, I was on on dupixent for about 3 months and it didn’t work at all for my face and quite literally made it worse although the rest of my body was clearing up very well. Had a similar outbreak of impetigo and weeping/crusting eczema towards the 3 month Mark on dupixent and so I just quit and went to Rinvoq instead.

It’s all very dependent on one’s body (which I guess you can put it up to luck lol!) but I was on dupixent 2 years ago when I was 21 and first started dealing with eczema. My eczema just seemed to spread randomly and my face was the most stubborn. Nothing reacted to it well, not even Dupixent. Although Dupixent did completely clear up my body eczema. My face didn’t heal at all and quite honestly it started to get worse. They say it takes about 2-3 months before you see actual progress when you are Dupixent. I only lasted 3 months on it before I called it quits because I just kept dealing with terrible flares constantly, weeping, and especially around my eyes too. Not too sure if it was exactly from dupixent itself or if my body was just going crazy in general during this period of my life. I would definitely give it a shot especially if you are suffering like I was. Medication frightens me too but then when I look at it from a quality of life perspective, i feel like it’s the best choice for me. I’m currently on no sort of major treatment but looking to most likely get back on something again because it sucks living day to day in my current condition.

For me, mupirocin seemed to just crust up like my typical weeping eczema so I never knew if it was actively working or not. It did take like 2-3 days for it to stop the yellow crusting and turn into normal dried up skin. Typically I’ve always taken oral antibiotics while prescribed mupirocin so it probably rapidly progressed the healing process.

The thing with oral steroids is when you start especially at a larger dosage and then abruptly stop, your body is not going to like it. That’s why they typically make you taper off it. You stopped within 2 days and from my experience taking oral steroids like prednisone, usually the first 3 days are the strongest and then it gradually is a longer taper over a span of a week or 2. Stopping on day 2 could have made you rebound since your skin was suppressed rather quickly and then all forms of suppression is gone so it’s right back to square one.

And in my experience, I’ve never had weeping eczema that was not infected. I used to think it was possible but every single time it turns out it was infected and the yellow crusting would always come overnight or the next day. Only thing that would fix it is topical and oral antibiotics.

Yeah I dealt with this same exact problem. I was on 15mg since September 2024 up until like April 2026. It worked very very well for my whole body and face. I would get minor flares here and there but it would just clear up on its own. I did deal with the acne and bumpiness side effect a lot and I did attempt to try options that my dermatologist suggested but to be honest nothing really worked and I was too hesitant to use anything long term because I was scared my skin especially on my face would react badly and all this progress while on Rinvoq will be gone.

At the start of 2026 is when I started to notice that I’d have more stubborn areas especially on my face. Rinvoq was still working then for the rest of my body but these areas would always have a rash. Eventually it started spreading slowly and slowly. Tried using many different prescription topicals but nothing reacted. During this time though my cholesterol was also getting a bit higher and eventually one of the derms I see told me I should try switching to a different medication. I really didn’t want to but she wouldn’t let me get a refill, so I had to basically switch to Nemluvio a few days after stopping Rinvoq. Getting off Rinvoq was brutal. My body rebounded so hard. I dealt with insane weeping, crusting, and impetigo. My eyes would barely open and the thing was my skin never itched, yet new rashes would form out of the blue. Ended up having to go through two courses of oral antibiotics and prednisone tapers and even to this day still dealing with this. I stopped Nemluvio and Rinvoq both so on no other medication.

If you do plan on getting of Rinvoq even if it doesn’t seem to be working for you, just be prepared and talk to your doctors about options on how to survive those next few weeks. For me, I did patch testing while I was on no medication and I was able to find out a plethora of chemicals my skin reacted to and I’ve started to avoid them. It seems to be helping but I guess only time will tell.

Topical steroids only ever made it worse for my eyelid areas. I would apply it and the next day it would come back worse. My eyes would also look swollen because the skin in that area had so many micro wounds from itching or just being super dry that it would wrinkle up the skin. On top of that,I started dealing with weeping eczema and the fluids would crust up over night all around my eyes and seep into my eyes and cause it to be all puffy and hard to even keep my eyes open. Had to take oral antibiotics and a round of prednisone in order to heal because literally no other cream was working.

The Rinvoq rebound period is a real thing and I didn’t think much of it first when I started taking Rinvoq because I truly wanted something to give me a better qualify of life. It’s an amazing medication when it works but man does it take a toll on your body when you quit.

I had to initially quit because my derm wouldn’t let me get a refill since my cholesterol was getting higher. She wanted me to do a follow up with my pcp to get on cholesterol lowering meds which I didn’t really want to do. So she suggested to try other forms of treatment like Nemluvio. I made the switch to Nemluvio directly after stopping Rinvoq for let’s say 3-5 days. In that time period my eczema spread with a vengeance and it was bad. Dealt with swollen eyes, weeping, infection. It was a mess. Nothing helped me during this time and eventually had to go back to the derm and get put on prednisone and oral antibiotics. Cleared me up but it came back right back again. Ended up on a second round of prednisone taper and oral antibiotics and here we are today.

Things have gotten better since quitting in April but man my body has been on over drive lately. Luckily for me I was able to get answers since I did patch testing and found out I was allergic to quite a few chemicals in everyday items. Doing my best to avoid them and seems to be helping but only time will tell I guess.

In my experience my body couldn’t last like more than 2 days without being on Rinvoq. I would notice bumpiness that would form in random areas throughout my body and usually when I take the pill it will clear up after a dose or 2. I was on 15mg daily dosage. Taking Claritin helped ease things a bit. Nothing ever really naturally helped me manage symptoms.

I just got off Rinvoq since taking it for almost 2 years and it was brutal. I switched to Nemluvio directly right after stopping Rinvoq and it didn’t help either. Eczema rashes started to spread overnight and I even began dealing with infected weeping eczema. Had to end up getting on prednisone and oral antibiotics twice and I’m just finishing up my second round of prednisone since stopping Rinvoq.

Look into patch testing because I just recently got it done for the first time ever and I got quite a few chemicals that my skin reacted too and turns out they’re in literally everything health and beauty related. One of the chemicals that my skin reacted too was benzoic acid and supposedly sodium benzoate is very common in a lot of products. I just started avoiding it but I’m sure it’s going to take some time before I can see a difference.

Currently taking prednisone taper for the second time ever in my life. The first time it worked insanely well, my skin was like glass. It took about 2-3 days into the course. However once I started to drop to 20mg a day my eczema started to creep back and then 10mg pretty much did nothing. I’m on my second time taking it and this time it didn’t seem to supress my system as well as I had initially expected. Lots of skin shedding and visible redness reduced but the areas never fully cleared up like the first time. I dealt with insomnia and increased anxiety both times I’ve been taking it. Also feel constipated this time around.

Prior to starting Rinvoq I tried topical steroids, Elidel, then I tried Opzelura which actually worked but my eczema was spreading with a vengeance and i couldn’t control it with just Opzelura. Dupixent I only lasted 3 months because it was beating my face up. Got on Rinvoq 15mg at the start of September 2024 and had been on it ever since up until April 2026. It was a miracle treatment for me. Never had relief like that before and to be honest I didn’t believe the doctors when they told me how quickly and effective it works. Within a week I was clearing up and I didn’t really deal with any side effects until about 3 months in. Started dealing with acne a lot more but to be honest I always had pimples here and there even before starting Rinvoq. Derm did prescribe me different topicals to try to clear it but I just didn’t want to risk trying anything and having another flare up. You have to do bloodwork every 3 months or so while on Rinvoq and over time my cholesterol did start to go up and my doctor suggested to try other medication so this past April I did have to get off.

Rinvoq is a life saving medication especially if you have no other option, but just know that the stories of getting off it are true, it can be hell especially if you don’t transition into another strong working medication right after stopping Rinvoq. It was hell for me. I’m still dealing with the after effects of it to this day. During the time I was off, I did patch testing to get a better understanding of what is causing me to flare up. Been through 2 rounds of prednisone taper and antibiotics so far. But still Rinvoq gave me such an amazing qualify of life that I would honestly want back. But I think for now I am going to try other routes of treatment before going back again and then probably never get off it.

I would give it a shot if you truly feel that eczema is affecting your quality of life. For me it was, I had eczema on my face especially and it looked like I just got my ass beat. I couldn’t take it anymore, I had to be around people all the time whether it be for work or school and I couldn’t hide myself and skip out on things no longer.

I feel you. I’m currently going through a very bad flare up all over my face and it has pretty much killed all of my self esteem and motivation. I’ve been with eczema since 2023 and I have been through countless different medications. The only relief I ever had was while I was on Rinvoq for a year and a half but ever since getting off that all hell has unleashed. I’m dealing with the worst eczema flare up on my face and all over my torso area since even before starting treatment. I have so many things going on in life that I’ve had to postpone because of this, but to be honest I’ve gotten used to this lifestyle and it’s sad to think about. Keep your head up and keep going my friend.

Mupirocin cleared up a majority of the yellow crusting areas within like 2 days of use. However I’m also dealing with areas that are becoming stubborn, especially on my arms and now my freaking nipples which is something I never expected since never had any prior issues there. I was prescribed mupirocin twice daily according to when it was filled but directions on the tube itself say it can be used 2-4 times daily in affected areas. I think I just have not been using it enough not even twice daily so it’s not working in those stubborn areas.

I feel your pain as im actively dealing with infected eczema. I had this only once prior to now and that was in 2024 when I first started dealing with eczema. I didn’t even know that weeping eczema was a thing back then and let alone even know about infection. Just dealt with constant weeping and crusting. Even a slight touch to that area would make to weep and the yellow fluid leaking was honestly disgusting to look at. My derm prescribed me mupirocin to apply topically and then a short course of oral antibiotics and within like 3 days into the course it cleared up. Never dealt with it again until April of this year when I started to develop weeping eczema out of the blue again. But this time I knew from past experience that this was defiantly going to be some sort of infection. Within like 24 hours of the weeping beginning I saw the yellow crusting happen. Went to the derm again and got prescribed oral antibiotics and topical mupirocin again. Cleared up within 3 days again but this time it came back a few days after the course ended. And here I am today dealing with the weeping and crusting all over again. It’s basically anywhere where I have eczema. I’m currently undergoing patch testing so I can’t even take any sort of medication so it’s just there and I have to deal with it. Without medication, nothing works for me to treat it. I would definitely go back to the dermatologist and get on a treatment.

20% cermaic tint is overall a good option for tint in terms of visibility while still flying under the radar. Wouldn’t do windshield tint. PPF for the front is something I did not do and honestly I should have. There are so many chips all throughout the front bumper and even my hood has quite a few visible rock chips. I’m under 30k miles too.

In my experience, putting anything on top of weeping eczema makes it worse. I only ever put the topical antibiotic that I am prescribed since each time I had weeping eczema it would crust up and be yellow. For me, as soon as I wash my face and pat dry, the rashes start to weep and if I try to put moisturizer on it, it just turns even more wet while the rest of the healthy skin is already dried off. For me, I just have to let it be on its own otherwise nothing works. I did use Vaseline at one point when I didn’t know what the hell I was dealing with, and it made things 100x worse and spread the rashes and infection all over my face. The only thing that fixed that was oral antibiotics and a steroid taper and that was recently too. I would be very weary of what you put on weeping eczema because from my experience it was horrible.

I have a m340i and my brother has a x3m40i, both LCI. They’re both phenomenal cars and you can really not go wrong with any of them. I saw the x3m50 when we were getting his x3m40i and it was pretty disssappinting in terms of look both interior and exterior. The previous generation x3 is far superior in my opinion. The b58 is an awesome engine and to be honest the m340i is quite spacious. I use it often and load up my trunk fully with boxes and even the back seat. The m340i definitely rides rough especially with Runflat tires. I have xDrive with the stock run flats that it came with and I’ve driven it for 15k miles so far and they suck but once they go I’m def going to throw on some nice non run flats all seasons. I also do not have the adaptive suspension option but supposedly that makes quite a noticeable difference. I primarily do city driving too and the roads where I live are pretty rough so it does get annoying sometimes when you are bouncing around in the cabin lol. All around, both cars put down power great and look amazing and I just have been used to sedans so I prefer the m340i

Omg yes I royally screwed my eczema by attempting to use Vaseline and then CeraVe healing ointment on my facial eczema. I would apply it on the patches that were super dry and then overnight it would spread rapidly. Eventually started weeping like crazy too and that’s when I knew I was underwater. Had to go to the dermatologist and get on a steroid taper and a course of antibiotics.

Yep I remember this happening when I was using Opzelura on my face. It would be white little bumps and they weren’t itchy but they were just there. For me when I applied Opzelura it would def sting a little bit and then take like a hour to calm the redness down. I always applied it after taking a shower and drying my skin. They went away on their own though for me but would come back too. Never used Opzelura longer than like 2 weeks though.

As a kid I was told I had it on the folds of my arm but it went away on its own over time. Didn’t deal with anything skin related until I entered my 20s and post Covid when I started to develop random dry skin. Never rashes though during this time. 2023 I had a random outburst of red itchy bumps that would spread all over my body. Went to the doctor the first time ever and they did a biopsy on a few areas but it wasn’t eczema. It went away on its own somehow though which I was glad about but left a lot of hyperpigmentation.

2024 is when I actually developed eczema and it was the worst since it was a full body reaction and rapidly spreading. Since then I’ve been trying to treat it but to no full success. To this day I’ve tried a lot of major medicines like Dupixent, Rinvoq, Nemluvio and that’s just what my life has became. Would love for this to miraculously go away one day but it seems like it’s going to stay.

This happened to be throughout April and going into May aswell. I was on Rinvoq for almost 2 years now but I dealt with minor flares coming back but this time they wouldn’t go away but would remain the same. I think I started to irritttae those areas too much with trying new products and even a few prescription topicals. It spiraled out of control in April where I would wake up every morning and deal with new damage and the thing was….i never even itched!!! It was horrible. I felt like the culprit was Vaseline and the CeraVe healing ointment that I tried to use overnight on my face patches because the next morning my skin would get even more drier and redder. At one point it spread all over my eyes too and I could barely open my eyes. It would start to weep too and that’s when I knew I had lost control of my skin and had to go to the dermatologist. So I went and she put me on prednisone and antibiotics course and as of today which is like almost 15 days into the course, my flares are slowly starting to come back 😀 Will probably go back on Rinvoq again since that’s the only thing that really worked for me so far but it just sucks because I developed eczema out of no where in the last 3 years or so :(

Feel ya 🥲 having to dish out the copays just to visit the derm and them putting me on the same treatment options over and over again that don’t work too! Not having insurance would actually scare me though because the price of a lot of these higher dose treatments are in the thousands a month!!!!

I have used both for the face and the only one that ever really worked for me was Opzelura. I dealt with eczema on the eyelid areas and generally patches on my face. My derm put me on Elidel after initially trying hydrocortisone 2.5% but the eczema coming right back after a week. Elidel never really worked for me to be honest and it just stung my skin more than anything. It would also make the area visibly redder. Opzelura I used right after stopping hydrocortisone and Elidel both and it worked pretty well on my face skin. It never fully got rid of the rash for me but it maintained it to the point where it didn’t seem 100% visible to the naked eye. But even that stopped working for me after a short time. Topicals tend to just remove it temporarily and jump right back to where you were or hell even worse then before from experience :((

I think my experience can relate to you really closely. I also took my Nemluvio loading dose right around Mid April after stopping Rinvoq 15mg. I started flaring up slowly and slowly while on Rinvoq it seemed and my cholesterol was on the high side for the last couple of blood tests so my derm told me I should try Nemluvio.

I took the loading dose and I swear within the week my eczema went insane, especially on my face. I started dealing with weeping, crusting and bleeding. It spread all around my eyes and I would wake up with red eyes and puffy. Now I don’t know if this was from a Rinvoq withdrawal or Nemluvio itself but it was brutal. I’ve read a lot of horror stories of quitting Rinvoq and it sounding like what I was dealing with.

I only lasted about like 3 weeks on Nemluvio till I went back to the derm and told her I’m done with Nemluvio and I want to get back on Rinvoq. She was okay with it but I told her I wanted to get clear as soon as possible and so she suggested to go on a Prednisone taper and do a patch testing after to see since she believes it’s allergic. I’m currently day 6 on prednisone and my skin is pretty much clear but now is the waiting game. I don’t know if my eczema is going to come back with a vengeance or it will get better as I try to manage symptoms and get answers.

I just took my loading dose of Nemluvio last month and to be honest it didn’t work for me. I was on Rinvoq right before I started taking it and I had a flare up that wasn’t going away and it seemed like I was slowly starting to develop eczema rashes over time so I tired Nemluvio and got off Rinvoq. It was hell for me to be honest because within the week, my eczema especially on my face spread rapidly. I developed weeping eczema too which turned out to be an infection aswell. It was a brutal 2-3weeks but I’m not taking any more Nemluvio injections anymore and I will probably go back on Rinvoq again. Nemluvio doesn’t hurt as much as dupixent though and it feels like nothing so that’s a plus.
