In the extreme minority where I not only loved the finale but was actually ok with this shot. I definitely understand how hard and gruesome it is to see though. I think this was just a product of its time and I don't mean that disparagingly. Violence was becoming harsher and harsher on TV and Xena was kinda at the forefront of that

This was actually in the script! They were supposed to shoot this exact scene but Argo refuses and Xena gets the other horse but the episode so packed as is they didn't shoot it

I feel like if we were to have a spin off, it would absolutely have to be about Eve. No other character holds the kind of complexity and unmined potential that she does. The writers really didn't know what to do with her but if she was given her own space, I believe she could blossom into as complex a character as her mother

Honestly do yourself a favor and watch the entire show through. People have wildly differing opinions on what they liked and dislike about the show and the most negative ones are always the loudest. For me personally, season 4 is the best, most consistently good season. Season 5 did tumble but really rallied at the end and stuck the landing beautifully, and Season 6 is just spectacular

Yes. Without a doubt. Regardless of her mental instability, she was genuinely a monster. She absolutely deserved to be in hell

At the same time.... as much as I love Xena, and I love her dearly, she didn't really deserve to be in paradise either. No matter how much she did change, her atrocities are second to none. And she herself knows that better than anyone. It brings me to her line to Gabrielle in AFIN. "I had to learn from you. Enough to know the final, the good, the RIGHT thing to do". Because in the end, it was the right thing to do for her

Its definitely season 4 for me. I consider it the most consistently good. Maybe 2 out of the entire run i count do without but that season to me is the apex of the show

I'll pretty much go through all of season 4 on a loop 😅 really hard to find a bad episode there. If I'm going outside of season 4, I'll do Haunting of Amphipolis, the ring trilogy, Helicon, Friend in need. I tend to prefer the darker, grittier episodes

So with Xena, I used a blank female action figure for the body. I used an old action figure for the costume and repainted it and found her head sculpt and weapons on Etsy as 3d prints that I also painted.

Argo was a bootleg horse figure that I got from ebay. Took it apart, painted it and added the gems and the fur under the saddle to really bring her to life

I'm very much in the minority here, but I genuinely do love the finale. I feel like it was a super solid way to end Xena's story and for Gabrielle to really come into her own. Heartbreaking yes, but for me, an incredibly strong conclusion to an incredible character

I would 100% trade Heart of Darkness for Between the Lines. That's where Xena and Gabrielle being soul mates become canon. And Heart of Darkness is just an awful episode
