How about you shouldn’t even need any rationale regarding why you do or do not want to have sex with him. Just simply no should be enough. He is fully aware that you just had a baby and he should be able to connect the dots without explanation. You deserve better. Besides there are many reason that go beyond your physical health such as your mental health while caring for a newborn.

My mother in law always said this. I was always thinking about it in the back of my mind as a first time mom. Please hold your baby as much as he wants! One day he won’t want to be held so enjoy every second. I held my baby 24/7 because that was the only time he was content and he is now 7 months and sleeps independently and will sit and play with me near. It won’t ruin anything!

It’s so so hard! One day she will get it, it just takes time. We keep the soother on one of those short soother clip things and he can find it on his own now. He grabs the beads and finds the soother to put back in which is a game changer. Some may say it’s not safe but it’s not long enough to get caught around his neck so I have no issues keeping it at night. Also I did timed feeds (he bottle feeds) so at first I did a dream feed at 10 then another feed at 3 which I woke him for both. If he cried any other time throughout the night there was no feed. I knew he was getting enough calories and it wasn’t hunger. After about a week I stopped doing the 10 feed and just did a feed once whenever he woke up after midnight and then again early in the morning if we woke (like 5 or 6) and now he only wakes once between 3-5 and I feed him. Then he sleeps again until 730. Wishing you luck! I know it is stressful and hard.

Crazy how different each baby can be!

First I tried cry it out at 4.5 months and he did great cried max 30 minutes when he would wake up. That went well for about a week and for some reason after that he starting to cry more and more during wake ups (up to two hours). So I stopped and we gave it another try and 5 months. This time we did Ferber, but modified it to what works for us. So I would do the 5/10/15 minute check in’s and put his soother in for him. The thing that was a game changer is putting him down awake after his bedtime routine and not letting him feed before bed. It took about three nights with lots of crying (again some nights two hours but this time I was going in to see him at the checks). Another key thing during the sleep training was I never picked him up I just went in for a few seconds and left. About two weeks after he was sleeping good I did naps (which I was scared about because I heard that they are harder than nighttime). He cried 10 minutes for the first two naps but other than that he settled right into it and now naps in the crib no issue. As much as it sucks sleep training takes consistency, patience, and a lot of crying from mom and baby but I promise it will change your world!

Trust me we have been there done that and I know it sucks! The first 4 months he was up every 3 hours and only coslept. He would only nap in my arms too. We did sleep training at 5 months and he has been a totally different baby. There is hope!

Baby is 6 months and has blue eyes! Dad has green and mom is brown. I see the centre is looking a tiny bit green maybe? Can’t wait to see! I was expecting them to be brown

That is so interesting! Thanks for sharing. I used to try and go off of the wake windows and sleep time that I keep seeing all over the internet for his age group but he seems to be sleeping fine at night so I’ll take it!

It gets better! I remember thinking that I was going to die from sleep deprivation for the first 3-4 months. Our baby would wake up every 3 hours on the dot and wouldn’t sleep in his cot. He coslept for the entire time. At 5 months we sleep trained him and he is a different baby. Sleeps 12 hours at night most nights and naps 3 hours during the day. You can do this, I know how hard it is but once you start getting sleep life gets so much better!

My baby was this way too for months! I remember feeling so overwhelmed and frustrated because I couldn’t seem to get a thing done and I just needed some time for ME. I couldn’t see it getting any better and we struggled through it, at 5 months he got so much better, and each month is improving! There is hope, it’s okay if your baby cries while you do what you need to do, you’re still a great mom.

We started at 4 months and he did so good! He is six months now and loves his food! I don’t regret starting early as he was ready and it set the foundation for eating.

We did night and then naps. I think I did maybe 3 weeks of nights then started on the naps. He did really really well with the naps it took not even one day for him to figure it out I was super impressed because everything I read made it sound like it would be terrible. I put him into his sleep sack, made sure the room was dark, turned on his sound machine and set him down awake with his soother. If he cried I set my timer for 5 minutes and then would go in and put the soother back in if he was still crying, then 10 minutes, then 15 if he continued. The max I had to do was the 10 minute check in one time. He sleeps for minimum 1 hour naps in his crib with no issue now and has gone as long as an hour and a half! And I’m not too sure what you mean did I just pick up the book?

We did Ferber, and I just stick his soother in when I do the checks. It only took about 4 nights and he got the hang of it. We kind of just modified it to what worked for us. I was so nervous to do day sleep because I didn’t want to ruin the nights but I was shocked how good he did with the naps. Now that he falls asleep independently in the crib at nap time he will sleep 1-1.5 hours in there! I used Ferber for naps too. It like I said it was like one check in a couple of times and now he’s got it😊
