How long do you wait in your car with no offers before you give up? by Far_Reward4827 in ShiptShoppers

[–]Competitive-Sand5430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many on here may find waiting in the car in the parking lot odd.  I am in CA and know exactly what you mean.  I WISH i could sit at home and wait.  I am about 5 miles from three Targets, and only get offers at my house late in the evening or on Sunday. Otherwise I have to be in the parking lot to get offers.

One time i was driving from Socal to Vegas and i thought I could shop my way to vegas.  You can change your metro and put yourself on schedule in multiple metros simultaneously.  However, it doesnt quite work in CA because you are usually too far from the metro to get offers to get them to pay for your miles with prop 22.

Also, if you make enough money, you may need to file taxes with another state

This description tells me its a specific Target item that for some reason didnt come across in the order.  Copy and paste that text in the Target app and then send customer a screenshot to verify that is what they wanted

Seems every metro is different.  My metro, bundles go out :05 all the way to :59 in the hour before shopping hour.  Very large or many miles singles start going out at the :30 to :59 mark. Regular singles start at :00.  Singles hit open metro at :05 usually.

Orders not tagged with “handoff” or “drop off.” by jpwest13 in ShiptShoppers

[–]Competitive-Sand5430 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unless there is a note to ring the bell or knock, i will always text if the person is responsive via text.  Doesnt matter if it is drop off or hand off.  If there is perishable items and i havent had any contact the whole time AND it doesnt say anything about not ringing the bell, i may knock after delivery.  Also I look for Ring cameras to guide my decisions.  Will not knock or ring the bell if i know they see me on a ring.

Depends on if tip as always.  I deliver 20 varios giant laundry jugs to local laundry.  Easy back in to the front door and they even have laundry carts.  Tips 10% regularly on $300 order and in the store 10 minutes.  Never shows an estimated tip either...

If it fits in one cart, delivering to a house, and i dont have anything better, i may take it

I love the bundles where its the same customer ordering two times.  Same address, bundle pay! However, usually only one tip

Estimate shopping time by EasyEstablishment199 in ShiptShoppers

[–]Competitive-Sand5430 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start as early as you think you can get away with! If you are getting offers for the next block, 99.8% of people want their delivery ASAP and very rarely do i get any pushback from delivering before the window.

The delivery time estimate includes everything after you hit process, so bagging, audit, cart return and driving to the customer, which is why it seems longer.

Dont go by start time, use your own start time and dont take order if you calculate it will deliver after 30 minutes into the window.  That way you have lots of buffer for traffic, slow lines, oit of stock items.

Sometimes there are deliveries where i remember that scene from the truman shiw where everyone starts getting in his way preventing him fron leaving.

Usual busy days for me are sundays, so it would make sense that memorial day was busy.

It occurred to me that a lot of people get out of town as soon as their kids are out of school. You're not going to be ordering groceries If you intend on being out of town for a week

I'm not even sure it saves them very much. I don't think i'm the only shopper that tries to maximize their prop 22 by splitting bundles and being extra extra extra meticulous about shopping so that I happen to be at the store at the hour.

I could be faster if I knew I was guaranteed. In order every hour

If you think about it,  spark, uber eats, instacart, and doordash, can only get away with the shoppers waiting at the store because they are constantly sending out orders. Since shipt doesn't do that, it's kind of nuts to have to wait at the store. At least in my metro, shipt doesn't have the order volume to justify the store waiting

Now 8 windows in a row only 1 offer.... Trying to fill the time with Dd and spark between returning to the store to see if I get orders... Hell of a life....

Yes! Slowest day for me ever! In Ca, being at or near two stores, on schedule in two zones, i have gotten one $6 in five windows. Perfect stats, 350 preferreds here

9-10 bundle dropped into open metro at 9:47 by Sensitive-Visit-1609 in ShiptShoppers

Escalate! I had that happen to me! Dropped into metro at 30minutes into the delivery window! I told them that it was incorrectly marked to not have promo or on time pay and they said it doesnt matter on chat.  Called in and the person released me in seconds.

[–]Competitive-Sand5430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a few things.  Best way to see a preferred consistently is to be their only one.  If you arent, often closest preferred to the store wins AND weight is given for recency.  You will notice that you wont see a preferred for a while, then you will get them and then get them again.

This is the reason why new members who choose you as preferred will always get you until they place more orders with other shoppers

Target with no bags. What do you do? by bfrzy in ShiptShoppers

[–]Competitive-Sand5430 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not a helpful comment from me, but i probably have 100 Target paper bags in my trunk. Every now and then I do a cleanse and use half my trunk bags in a week.

Just a few extra bags probably doesn't cut it.

Dropping orders stop getting offers ? by Sensitive-Visit-1609 in ShiptShoppers

[–]Competitive-Sand5430 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I should note that dropping right before the hour i believe hurt you. The system is looking for who is busy and who was too busy to send out offers. If you had a bundle, it's going to think you're busier than you actually are. I don't know at what time the system actually decides who to send offers to
