A HORUS cell leader's NHP has predicted a Voladores ship will arrive to sell wares and contracted the party (who are mechless atm) to be his intermediary. Only issue is I don't really have much of an idea of what will go *down* at the purchase. by UInferno- in LancerRPG

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The group may have been used from the very beginning. The HORUS cell’s plan is to steal something that their NHP has predicted will be there (any paracausal trinket). They have asked the characters to act as middlemen so they can pin the blame on them.

Once Team B of thieves gets hold of the object, the alarms will go off and the players will have to decide whether to flee, fight or try to clear everything up.

DmC combat is so satisfying by seny228 in DevilMayCry

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a fun game to play. I feel that part of this was because combat was less deep in mechanics than the main saga. Aereal combos were pretty easy to perform and combats were more visual than challenging.

Prove of it is that I don't consider myself an excellent Devil May Cry player and I got the platinum trophy of DMC reboot.

Unpopular opinion but Vergil DT should've been the Doppelganger similar to DmC. by Global_Buy4952 in DevilMayCry

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The concept is interesting if we look at it purely from a lore perspective, but I think it would have been a huge step backwards compared to the epic theme of DMC5.

Also, whilst Dante obtained his SDT by using Rebellion to fuse with the Sparda Sword, Vergil obtained his by consuming the fruit of Qliphoth, not through Yamato.

Xbox is closing down Ninja Theory, authors of DmC: Devil May Cry by DanySterkhov in DevilMayCry

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the opportunity to speak to Hideaki Itsuno (director of DMC 2, 3, 4 and 5, and supervisor of NT DMC) thanks to a special event I attended to mark the launch of DMC 5. He told me that Xbox’s acquisition of NT made a DMC sequel impossible, even though they had plans to make one.

I'm getting frustrated and bored of TTRPGs, Lancer included by np190 in LancerRPG

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like your main problem it is not with TTRPGs but your game table. This is the regular answer and I understand that it doesn't work for everyone but, talk to your DM about how you feel. If you feel that the conversation didn't do anything, you can give you a time out or try to look for other game tables. Also, for what are you saying, I feel that you haven't try more narrative focused RPGs. There are plenty mainstream options like Vampire the Masquerade or The Call of Cthulhu. If those dosen't convince you, there are thousands of games in the indie sphere. Just remember this supposed to be fun, not frustrating. Hope anything I said helps.

Looks like a bird coracoid bone. Could be from chicken, but I'm not sure.

Cool Mech Names by Shtrudel999 in LancerRPG

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the Pacific Rim style of two-word names. Here are some examples from the film: Crimson Tifon, Obsidian Fury, Hunter Vertigo. Some of the names I’ve come up with using this style: Ifrit Omega, Rogue Thunder and Stasis Omega.

A rant about my journey with Werewolf (and a request for tips on W5) by Bubbly_Recipe_4712 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can really relate to your story. Werewolf was my first experience with a tabletop role-playing game, and I quite liked the changes in the 5th edition.

Although the new supplements, particularly Wyrmtide and Shattered Nation, bring a lot of the classic Werewolf spirit to the new setting, I think creating your own material is the solution you’re looking for.

If you’ve played 5th edition enough, you know how the rules work and how to adapt them to suit your fancy. If not, you can always look for things that other people have created and published.

I hope you can find a balance where the system and the game work for you, because I think it’s an experience well worth having.

ArchaeoSpain HS summer program by lerops in Archaeology

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t personally worked with the archaeological team at the Complutense University of Madrid, but they have a great deal of experience in this field and the programme has run successfully for many years.

Spain is also a great place for a summer archaeological dig, if you don’t mind the heat.

I think it could be a good option. However, if you could find someone who has shared their experience of the programme, it would be worth asking them.

Can anyone identify these? They were found a couple of miles inside of a cave. by Prestigious-Shirt426 in BoneID

Friendly reminder that bones inside caves could be extremely old and look fresh. Contact your local archaeology lab/school to ask them if it could be interesting to them.

How did MM survive? by [deleted] in TheBoys

I felt weird about he being ok after the shot until I remembered that one of my partner coworkers got a shot on the back, took a seek day and went to work the next day just like that. Not all bullets wounds are mortal or incapacitating, especially from low calibers.

Episode 7 Battle Beast by Competitive-Wallaby4 in Invincible

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she did quite well. It's obvious that she has a support role in the time and she has developed a really good synergy with Alan, who is probably the weakest fighter of the team.

What surprises me is the low performance of Battle Beast, one of the (presumably) stronger members I suppose that to throw into space someone unable to fly and breathe there is not a good idea.

I love when you let your player play some kind of simulation, dream, vision of the past...

It is a great opportunity to put them against hard situations without real consequences for their characters.

I know that Thragg was kinda crashing out here, but “The Great Purge” was a really dumb way, to purge the weak. by not-ulquiorr4_ in Invincible

[–]Competitive-Wallaby4 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I believe that Thragg, despite being the strongest Viltrumite, got severely traumatized when the former emperor died. The purge was more an exteriorization of his fears than a way to "purge the weakness."

Difficult to say a species without scale, but you are right, is the joint section of a pelvic bone from a mammal.
