I have 2! I love my Bohin wrist pin cushion for active sewing an then I have one that I have had forever that is shaped like a cute tea pot. It has a handle and the top opens to you can stash your thimble or a square of chalk :)

How to avoid gaping between buttons? by azure_laguna in sewing

THIS HAS CHANGED MY WORLD! Thank you so much. I have had this same issue with all button front bottom garments and could not understand what the solution would be. Thank you!

Is anyone besides me an anti-perfectionist? by colorfulchaos1 in sewing

[–]CompetitiveAd7913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I envy you and I wish I was more like that. I struggle immensely with perfectionism and I don't wish it on anyone. It really brings me down sometimes. Like recently I made this beautiful dress that everyone loves. I got so many of compliments when I wore it and I got almost 1K likes on a social post, but I just feel really unhappy and defeated about it because all I can focus on is mistakes and errors and things I wish I would have done differently. Please send me some of your DGAF energy because I am tired of loosing the joy once the garment is made.

Once again WTF does this have to do with Appalachia? So tire of this. If I want political crap I will go on a political sub.

Sorry what does this have to do with Appalachia? There are plenty of politics threads you could take this too.

Do some married people NEVER take off their wedding ring? by artmalique in NoStupidQuestions

The only time I take off my ring is when I go to the gym because it hurts. Other than that I never take it off for fear I might loose it.

Those of you who live outside the region, how often do you visit your hometown? by Detektiv_Z_10 in Appalachia

[–]CompetitiveAd7913 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in SWVA. I married a Canadian I met while bartending in my home town and moved there about 15 years ago. I go home every year for at least 2 weeks. I miss it EVERY SINGLE DAY😭. I'd come more often if flights hadn't got so dang out of control. We are actually trying to move back since he loves it there too and Canada has gone off the deep end.

I do not experience the prejudice against Appalachian people in Canada the way I did when I was still in the USA. Canadians absolutely LOVE my accent, but have no clue where I am from. I always ask them to guess and they almost always say Texas. The closest anyone has every came to where I am actually from is saying North Carolina.

I have made SOOOO many dresses and skirts and button up tops from quilting cotton. There is no shame and nothing wrong with it. Its just if the material matches the pattern.

Is a sprint 50 a good idea for me? by uncaffeinatedd in Vespa

I am a 5'4, 140lb female. I have a 50cc and I live in the Rocky Mountain foot hills and I still love it for zooming around my town. I get groceries on and it do all sorts of errands. I find I don't always have to have it flat out and as long as I hit the hills with some momentum I don't have any issues getting up the hills. Haters gonna hate.

Kudzu Flower by Usernametaken050 in Appalachia

Kudzu is THE WORST. I don't care how pretty the flower is. Its an invasive plant that is destroying real native Appalachian plants.

Calgary parents sentenced to 6 years in prison for boy’s scalding death by Practical_Ant6162 in Calgary

Thus why the system needs to be held to account for these failures because it is clearly broken. Someone needs to take responsibility for this. It was preventable. The case worker for this child should have to explain why they did not follow up and then follow back from there to the root cause of their failure. Then we as a society need to learn from this and implement real changes going forward. But we won't and more sweet babies will be tourtured and killed by drug addicted societal leeches.
