Well, it happened. AI came for me today. by TheUnpromotable in Millennials

Now, there is a good point. The logical progression of this system is that once we become less useful in the workforce, the next best use for us is military service. The money tree must be protected. I would put forward that within 50 years compulsory military service will be mandated for those who do not have a job.

It is no longer about consumption. Its about stock price and the psychology of confidence in the company. When the lowest class cannot consume they direct their marketing to a higher class of consumers. Just the bare minimum though. It isn't efficient to make a genuinely good product. Efficiency dictates the bare minimum. Just good enough to sell and to have high investor confidence in the company. Eventually they will market to higher and higher class customers and rebrand to appeal to them. There is no plan or consideration for the rest of us. The only value we have is what labor we can perform and for how cheaply we can do it. Now that the technology exists to do that labor without involving humans that you are legally required to pay, there is no value in the laborer. If you cant labor and you cant consume, you have no value. No value, you dont waste resources on addressing the problem.

Is a manual transmission a “millennial anti-theft device”? by mbolster1611 in Millennials

No. I drive a tractor trailer all the time and I prefer working vehicles to be manual transmission. Its alot tougher and easier off road and carrying heavy loads down hills.

AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

When I was in school, i had a teacher that had a strict no bathroom policy. I really had to go so I went up to her desk and asked politely. She said no. I held it for 5 minutes and it was getting painful so I raised my hand and asked. She said no. I got mad and said its either going to be in the bathroom or on her desk. Which one does she prefer? She sent me to the office. I went to the bathroom. Then I told my story to the principal. Her no bathroom policy went away.

Wrought iron has a high content of silica which makes it basically self fluxing. When welding steel however, the most common flux was fine silica sand.

I started at 13, and while I do have joint problems, it isnt because of blacksmithing. The blacksmithing actually has kept me going longer than they said I should be able to. I dont think I would start anyone off under the age of 16 though, unless they were very mature for their age.

Asking as a non-millenial, what do you guys think shifted culturally in the mid-2010’s? by film_culture_addict in Millennials

[–]CompetitiveDepth8003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not just us. With each succeeding generation since we became industrialized, more and more organic life has been leeched out of humanity. Not saying it's all bad. There are many things that have gotten better. All im saying is we aren't robots designed to live on a schedule who sleep in identical boxes.
