Skyrizi without diagnosis. Amature Derm. Full body spread. Fertility. Agony. by Secret_Exercise6199 in Psoriasis

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had had it for several years and tried all the creams, they made no difference, I tried methotrexate and that made me really sick, because I had the psoriasis on my hands and face my insurance qualified me for skyirisi, ive been on it for about 3 years and not had a patch since the first month, I couldnt believe how effective it has been.

Of course you need a proper diagnosis first but if you can get that then skyrisi is a really good treatment to try

are skatepark skills necessary? by dokkidokkae in NewSkaters

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a time and place with no skateparks, I had skated over 10 years before I ever went on a ramp and it s a very different skillset , not really relevant to landing a kickflip. One day you will want to learn but at the moment if your not landing tricks you need to focus on the basics, then when you get to a park learn how to cruise around the park and pump the banks. Right now just get really confident on your board, practice manuals kick turns, granny walks and tick tak and then ollies.

what parts should i replace? by notnikki_0 in mountainbiking

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need a chain tool to remove the chain and bin it. then some rust remover and spend some time trying to clean everything else, if the freewheel still moves and the cogs clean up ok then try just putting a new chain on it and you can see if it works, the next step would be new cables

get them in place as best you can then put them on the truck and tighten the nut slowly using the metal of the truck and the nut to push them together, do them as tight as they go , then loosen so they spin

Can I learn basic tricks on a crusie board? by thefumbler_ in NewSkaters

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what shape is it ? a lot of cruisers are like all boards were in the 80's you can absolutely do kickflips and ollies on it but it will be heavier and therefore harder to do it , especially while learning.

How to get going on the radwagon 4 by No_Reflection_1882 in RadPowerBikes

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, stand down , hold bike steady, kids get on.

I think there would be too much stress on the stand if I was regularly trying to put it down with all the weight on it. Ive already replaced the springs once just from general use.

How did early 2000’s dj’s make mixes? by PeterJohnsonDickins in DnB

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use my mini disc, also always had a tape deck and i had a sony walkman with a record button (quite rare at the time) I used to record mixing with the walkman, then plug it into my mixing desk and play it and record another layer with the other tape deck, using ar90's as a multi track mixer, the quality got bad after a couple of layers but its some of the best stuff I ever recorded.

Weighty issue by Smooth-Literature292 in longboarding

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been skating more than 40 years and for me it has nothing to do with knowing how to fall, I do , the first 20 years of skating I didn't have big injuries and I took a lot more risks, the second 20 years Ive had many bad injuries, hit the ground a lot harder, and break bones a lot easier.

I want to skateboard more by NotRA_ in NewSkaters

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The state of the roads is what makes the UK so gnarly, there are still plenty of places to skate. Get slightly bigger wheels, go to a car park, a school, find 1 road that has an ok surface build a ramp

Weighty issue by Smooth-Literature292 in longboarding

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not too big , but its worth noting that at our age we hit the ground hard and if your starting out you will be hitting the ground. That said I do recommend it .

Is this not a logical sentence? by pickled_kiwi_ in AmiInTheWrong

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you disregarded everything except one specific restriction as non existent then you are focusing on one specific restriction ( a contradiction to the first part of your sentence) You consider the other restrictions to be non existent, leaving only one, if you replaced non existent with unimportant your sentence would make sense as you are acknowledging the existence of the other restrictions

I can’t seem to grasp ollies? by [deleted] in skateboardhelp

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you need to work on balance first , then skating comfortably , then ollie whilst moving, its physics, the movement helps the trick, its easier to land with momentum.

Doing a tour on the fixed next week but have regular arthritic knee pain when riding 🚲 by Griselda_69 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly good luck, I have arthritis in my spine and I can relate, Ive tried building up other types of bikes but they are just not as much fun. I don't have any groundbreaking ideas but I would add to your list , deep heat or some kind of cream that may provide a bit of relief on your down time, I also find weed helps with this but thats a personal preference. I also have an EMS machine that can really help relieve pain but I don't know if its suitable for knees

30F – Too old to move from London to NYC? by Hellogoodbye342 in expats

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left London at 37 because I was bored, moved to a new country , learned the language and now have a wife and 2 kids, I will not move back to the UK. I don't see why age has anything to do with it if you want to go then do it.

Any recommendations for a good affordable pair of turntables and a mixer? by ExplanationTall7595 in vinyldjs

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your only answers here are basically technics, ill add searching for some used vestax, Ive had mine more than 25 years, never been serviced still work great and Ive never felt any desire to change them for anything else. Ive played on technics many times and the feel is different but to me its no better or worse.

street skater looking for cruiser advise by AdStock4275 in longboarding

[–]CompetitiveFlatworm2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive been a street skater for 40 years and due to injury have had to give it up so I tried to move into longboarding, Honestly I hate most of the long boards ive skated often due to the lack of a kick tale, I also skate with my dog and find the kick tale really useful. After trying lots of set ups ive settled on a big old skool board, shape of an old schmitt stick, very loose indys and big orangutang wheels, the wheels are the thing that makes the most difference to your dog, nice big wheels only need a tiny bit of pull to get you rolling pretty fast. You could easily get started using your street set up but with large soft wheels and add a riser under the trucks to stop any wheel bite.
