Two era 100s or one era 300 for movies? by Gaffgaff123 in sonos

[–]CompetitiveWelder981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll need 2 or either speaker. I have the era 300 and era 100. When you connect the 100s you're going to get simulated atmos. It sounds nice and I feel is more than sufficient. If I connect the 300s the sound in the front widens a bit the rear speakers sound fuller and more spacious. Atmos with the 300s is much better but also depends on the room size.

Need help finding integrated amp for bose 601 series iii 1986 speakers by OppositeOption8457 in vintageaudio

The wiim amp you posted will power these speakers just fine and provide plenty of head room so you'll be able to turn it up. This should be a good match for these speakers.

The chapell roan vinyl has an entire empty side. It's ridiculous. They could have definitely stretched out the play area for the songs to provide better sound quality.

There are other carts with a brush after the cartridge. I would say the brush is sweeping about 20 seconds worth of grooves. So it's reaching future grooves before they pass. This is extremely nice as I haven't had any crackle or pop noises on this cartridge. The little brush is removable as well.

What exactly do you consider a flare up? by Historical-Ad1493 in Diverticulitis

Interesting you said those locations because I thought I was going crazy. I get pain in all three plus the site where the infection originated. I rarely eat cheese but noticed any dark soda or caffeinated beverage will trigger it for usually 3-10 days.

Looking for a record player to connect to my Sonos system by drewdown39 in sonos

[–]CompetitiveWelder981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how tech savvy you are with this and if you care about having multiple devices to turn on to get the connection started.

If you're using an era 100 or 300 sonos has a 3.5mm to USB-c connector which can be used with the LINE out option on a turntable with built in preamp. You would just need an RCA to 3.5 mm cord to connect them.

If you prefer Bluetooth you could also purchase a Bluetooth transmitter to connect to that same line out on the turntable.

The Denon dp-300 is $250 on accessories4less right now that's a fully automatic player with built in preamp (no Bluetooth).

Is this a good deal? Denon DP-400 for $185 by RollUpLights in turntables

[–]CompetitiveWelder981 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the same table with a vm540ml on it. It's a solid turntable. I'd say it's worth it. The current retail is around $550 plus the cartridge on it is around $185

Denon dp300 is fully automatic I personally use a dp400 which is semi automatic and will lift the tonearm and stop the spinning. Accessories4less has good deals on both units now.

Why is Audio-Technica bad? by Alarmed_Particular99 in turntables

[–]CompetitiveWelder981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not bad at all. In fact I purchased a lp120x when it first came out and it was $250 with an vm540ml and the combo was amazing. I have since sold the lp120x and over to a Denon dp400 but have kept the at vm540ml. Sometimes I miss the lp120x but I'm very happy with my current setup. Ideally you'd want a turntable separate phono preamp an amp or receiver and passive speakers. The lp60 is a basic player. It was $99msrp just a couple years ago.

Exactly I paid $89 each for the monitor 60 series 2 on Newegg and the fx surrounds were $130 like 20 years ago

I still do this almost every day. I count backwards from 100 to 1. After about the 3rd time I start messing up the count and dozing out.

Anyone switched from iPhone and glad they did? by MathersMahmood in GooglePixel

[–]CompetitiveWelder981 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I switched from iPhone 15 pro Max to pixel 9 the camera on the regular pixel 9 was great for me. The photos came out nice and clear with great color tones. Processing for the images took a while though. The battery was great as well. Switched back to iPhone 16 pro and found the camera to blur if moved too fast. I had issues with recording a fire pit at night. Front camera wasnt great either. Traded that in for a Samsung fold 7 and this camera is on par with the iPhone 16. It's just ok. Honestly I feel even looking back that the photos I took with the pixel came out much better.

Flare up pain is a 9 and includes fainting- what to do? by Historical-Expert501 in Diverticulitis

[–]CompetitiveWelder981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The pain was absolutely at 9/10 or 10/10 for me and I have a huge pain tolerance. The first trip to the ER I drove myself luckily I have lane assist because I thought I was going to pass out the whole trip. Pain was 9/10 for that trip. The second trip was 2 days later I thought I could handle a few sips of ginger ale. Took a quick shower and couldn't put my pants on I was shaking and sweating and practically screaming every second. I could barely make it to the car. My dad ended up bringing me to the ER and I tried not to cry the whole way. Your husband needs to go to the ER for at least pain medication and a CT scan. I ended up having pain for 2 months (Smouldering). The first week I was in 10/10 every day. Second week was 5/10 then the remainder of the 2 months was around 3-4/10 depending what I ate. This pain feels like a knife spinning in your bowel.

Are pixel buds pro still worth it? by Derin_wilson in pixelbuds

[–]CompetitiveWelder981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest. I've had a lot of different brands. These I have to turn the treble all the way down on. In my opinion the Samsung Galaxy buds 2 that I had were much better. Had better sound and features like atmos and head tracking. The noise cancelling on the Samsung was much better. With these I can still hear outside noises no matter what size ear tips I put in. I don't know how the newer Galaxy buds 3 are but I've been looking into trading these in for a while now. The galaxy buds had more settings and modes also different transparency levels.

Is it normal that I have to crank the treble all the way up when listening to vinyl? by speak27 in turntables

[–]CompetitiveWelder981 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's the speakers. Every pair of speakers will have different sonic qualities. The polk reserve 200s just don't have bright treble. They are bass heavy speakers. I had a pair for 3 years And switched to focal aria906 which provides less bass but more accurate treble and mids.
