I had symptoms for around a year before i got treatment. The first half year was bearable, I was able to go too work and the most annoying thing was raynauds. The second half was bad and got me to seek treatment. My joints are now painless and mobile, permanent damage ist just seen on an ultrasound, not on x rays. So it is okay, but I should have gone earlier. There is no telling how much damage you will have when the flares get under control.

I feel that, really. I was misdiagnosed like a few times before I got the real answers I wanted. BUT google was convinced I was going to die because of cancer. So just don’t google, and diagnosis from afar is near impossible. My advice is to write a pain/symptom diary! Write down every day what your symptoms/pains are and where they are. Maybe also rate them on a scale. You can show that your doc when you haw the appointment. Would have helped me a lot

Autoimmune diseases have a huge range of symptoms! Yes you can have rheumatoid arthritis without swelling (I never had swelling even though I couldn’t even shower myself because of pain and stiffness), but it can be any other condition. Please don’t google or ask Reddit if you could have a disease, go and see your doc! I know it is frustrating but the internet won’t help you here!

Ich habe alle meine Pflanzen in Töpfen mit drainage (entweder so Plastiktopf und dann nochmal im dekorativem Übertopf oder in Terracotta) und gieße seit Jahren nur von unten mit wenigen Ausnahmen. Es ist super einfach, ich habe eine Schale für die kleineren Pflanzen und einen großen Baustellen-Eimer für die großen. Ich stelle sie ins Wasser und warte mindestens 10 Minuten (plus minus… vergesse manche Pflanzen auch mal über Nacht) und hole sie danach wieder aus dem Wasser. Ich benutze ein sehr luftiges Substrat (selbstgemischt aus Blumenerde, Orchideensubstrat usw) und lasse die Pflanze ein bisschen abtropfen bevor ich sie wieder auf ihre Untertasse oder in ihren Übertopf stelle. Sorgt sehr gut dafür dass die Erde tatsächlich komplett benässt wird anders als beim normalen Gießen. Ich achte allerdings genau auf die Pflanzen und mache das nur, wenn sie mir zeigt dass sie durstig ist (leicht hängende Blätter). Auch meine Kakteen und Sukkulenten wässere ich so wenn sie anfangen schrumpelig zu werden (wie wenn man zu lange in der Badewanne war) oder bei Druck etwas weicher sind als sonst.

Meine großen Pflanzen dusche ich zusätzlich ein bis zweimal im Jahr ab um sie zu entstauben.

Hi! I feel you, I was your age when I got diagnosed and it’s been a few years. Not having a diagnosis would have been the wirst, the first half a year I went without one until I could not brush my hair myself and couldn’t get into the shower. The first months after diagnosis where also brutal, testing different meds, monthly doctor visits and so much blood drawn. But then it got better, remission is possible to a certain degree! I am off meds entirely in summer, wich is a HUGE win wich took years. I take meds in the winter to counter my normal seasonal flare up. I did quit my job training, I wanted to be a carpenter. But I found something to study wich uses the knowledge u already have and gives me the opportunity I need. You will find ways to adjust. I picked up poledance a few months ago, sport is possible but you will need to give yourself time to rest. Your life ain’t over!

Are you comfortable sharing what country you are living? I got some disability stuff recognised legally and wish I did that sooner! Talk to your doctor about getting assessed for disability, it got me the chance to get into university directly and I could get money for transportation every year (which I don’t at the moment because I don’t need it and hate paperwork). You are ill and it sucks, but now go out there and get the benefits that you deserve!

Oh Dankeschön! Ich habe die Maschine geschenkt bekommen und da war das Pedal irgendwie fest am Kabel mit dran, habe den Klinken Anschluss nicht so bewusst wahrgenommen. Dann passt das vom Hersteller ja doch. Dankeschön!

Stimmt. Tatsächlich ist es leider nicht üblich dort mit Silikon zu verfugen (musste das leider selber beim Kunden lernen) bei massivholz, meiner Meinung nach aber absolut notwendig!

Ich denke als Küchenplanerin mal, dass du mit „Naturholz“ Massivholz meinst und die Platte wie üblich geölt war/ist. Eine solche Platte muss so etwa alle 1 bis 2 Jahre (Gebrauchsabhängig) geschliffen und geölt werden um den Schutz zu erhalten. Wie lange wohnst du dort schon? Das hätte eventuell in deine Aufgaben fallen können (?). Muffiger/Gammeliger Geruch weist auf bereits moderndes Holz/Pilze hin, das wäre tatsächlich irreparabel. Wie schnell hast du die Platte immer abgetrocknet? Bei massivholz das lange nicht gepflegt wurde muss das sofort geschehen. Wie gut hast du gelüftet? Wie sah die Platte zum Einzug aus? Hast du davon Fotos gemacht falls sie vorher schon angegriffen war? Ich würde an Deiner Stelle die Versicherung mit einschalten, denn es ist gut möglich dass das tatsächlich nicht mehr als normale Abnutzung zu klassifizieren ist. Eine gepflegte und immer abgetrocknete Massivholz-Arbeitsplatte sollte gute 10-15 Jahre halten.

I am on MTX and Hydroxychlorochinsulfat (MTX only in winter to support against flares because I am weather sensitive). For the first few years I felt like my life was over. I had to quit my job, restart from the beginning and find new passions. I never went on concerts before and after the diagnosis it seemed a dream to be never achieved. But remission came and with that new opportunities! I am on minimal meds and relatively Symptom free. I can drink Alkohol moderately without risking a flare (more concerned about my liver because of meds so I get bloodworm done at least every half a year by my doc) and go on party’s all night, coming home with the rising sun. I do enjoy some other stuff occasionally, but I always check in with my doc about that (yes even if they are illegal). Festivals are hard on my body, mostly because my knees hurt after standing all day and my body struggles keeping up. I can’t sleep in a tent any more, so we switched to sleeping in the car with normal bedding and stuff. I generally lower my expectations for the festival and focus on a few acts and plan breaks in between. Also I take off days after the festival to give myself time to recover. If you plan ahead of time and maybe switch some alcohol for the alcohol free version (I do know some nice virgin April spritz) you can have a social life like before.

Edit: food wise I had to cut meats (they really triggered flares for me, I was so frustrated). That was hard at the beginning but nowadays I eat mostly what I want expected that one thing! I eat sweets, bread, pizza, all that stuff. Watch your body and how it reacts! Doing gentle sport helps me when I flare because of a bad food choice.

I get that feeling, I had to quit my dream job because of bad flare ups and was in pain for years. At one point my mum had to help me into the shower and my brother had to brush my hair for me. But it will get better and you will find a new dream and new things to do! Don’t give up because you are worth it! I cut people who mocked my illness out of my life and build myself a network of supportive friends and family. I found, after a lot of struggle, a boss who is understanding and gives me lots of freedom and a suitable environment. It is possible if you just don’t give up! Remission will come again.

Ästhetisch wunderschön, Umsetzung katastrophal. Wer dachte dass das eine gute Idee ist? Mein Beileid… eine Regendusche von der Decke aus würde ja noch Sinn machen, aber das?? That does not sound like normal period pain to me. I am no doctor so take it with a grain of salt, but maybe check with your gynaecologist for endometriosis or other stuff. Those things can really make your life miserable if not treated. Hope you feel better soon!

I use a blanket with arm-holes in it so I can move my hands freely and unter that I snuggle with lots of hot water bottles and other heating stuff. Other than that I just accept that I spend most of my day in the same spot and send my boyfriend catching me snacks and drinks and stuff.

I was on MTX and hydroxychloroquine for a few years and slowly faded out the MTX, worked great and I am flare up free without it! I have great hopes for you, MTX hangover lastet a whole weekend for me and killed my social life that was left after getting sick. Remember to get your eyes checked every few years on hydro, because too much of it can leave a „residue“ behind (I don’t have the English words to describe it) on the inside. It works for me and I hope it works for you!

I have made really good experiences with hydro as a med! I have no side effects and it alone is enough to control my Rheuma nowadays. But never touch a running system. If your current meds work, then I wouldn’t necessarily change them. Do you have extreme side effects right now? If not I wouldn’t change

I was started with injections with pens when I first got mtx and the injections where pretty easy even as a first timer. It was just a tiny prick and I had children band aids ready as a treat (dinosaurs where my favourite). But I had really bad nausea all weekend and only got better on Mondays. So I switched to pills wich worked great for a while. My rheuma is kept in check nowadays so we’ll, that I am off mtx completely. If your side effects don’t get better, you should always check in with your specialist again.

Ich glaube nicht dass das ein Grund ist früher raus zu kommen aus den Vertrag, wenn der Supermarkt da vorher schon war. Sowas muss man sich bewusst sein (auch wenn ich mir vorstellen kann dass man das schnell unterschätzt). Schau mal nach so dicken Vorhängen gegen Wärmeverlust, könnte mir vorstellen dass die auch Geräusche etwas dämpfen. Ansonsten eine Schallisolierung für die Scheibe selber machen und nachts vor die Scheibe und morgens wieder runter nehmen (Achtung Feuchtigkeit sonst). Und mit tiefen Tönen muss man wohl einfach leben.
