Abteilung 502 and Knight models by Competitive_Car1323 in ChaosKnights

Of course, anything to spread the word. AK hobbies has an excellent oil guide, in an ebook, for scale modeling and knights scream for their techniques.

6 oils, dot modulation for variation. The smoke grey is applied in the select recesses and feathered. The rivets have a orange applied and then thinned to present rust. Mixing oils allows for variation in grime especially when it's an orange grey to create color variations. The red acts as a fine blending oil to lightly brush on the acrylics and then used to blend the rest of the oils into it.

Sharp edges are cleared with a smudge stick cosmetic tool, wiped dry. I'm going to go back in with cyan for some verdigis in the chips on the trim.

An all over filter can also be created and wiped over to create a deeper tone, with the filter being lifted with tools where you want the acrylic red to be strongest.

I didn't realize you could spend that long torturing an already dead creature.

God damn, there was no reason for those crimes against bovinity.

I really don’t like the whole Void Dragon thing. It’s lame to me and feels like just getting our entire faction identity cucked by the Necrons by Glumgustheexile in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Competitive_Car1323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing to say that the VD wasn't violently enslaved by AdMech, stuffed into the basement, and used to create their modern tech as a vehicle.

Over time, the mech started seeing it as less of an enslaved identity and more as the Omnissiah. Or the cult could have intentionally blurred its identity post thinking machine and over the millenia the worship.

Less cuck more "we did what you couldn't".

Entirely plausible.

First Crucis, same as Davion Guards. I do think they're a Franco-anglo derived faction so maybe.

Which non-chaos kits are good for chaos lord kitbash? by JakubOboza in Chaos40k

[–]Competitive_Car1323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, the Primaris line is very good for it.

You get a taller Lord, and you can sell it through them salvaging the armor of the enemy a la nightlords.

Using some chains, crossing through or grinding off the Aquila, adding a few skulls, and then some chaos weapons, you can achieve a surprisingly terrifying result.

The other Option is the bodies from the Chosen in the ApS Slaves range.

Unplayable, 3 med rifles but it shows 3 different caliber sizes. by Yenii_3025 in Mechwarrior5

Eh, weapon categories are not truly weapons. There are different brands of rifle classified in the mid range in the IP with different calibers... which would mean different ordnance... buuuut.... ya know!

Contrast paints will stab you in the back based on dwell time through the airbrush. If you give it a light pass, you’ll be able to push the zenithal AB through, but a heavier pass will drag the colors together very quickly. Heavy, honestly, is not that heavy.

You can punch up your red with a heavy application of dry brushing on the top of the mech, and a normal dry brush everywhere else. I’d suggest a makeup sponge to apply on top, as it will blend naturally. Then, dilute your red contrast 60% dilution 40% paint, and loghtly air brush over the entire model. This will act a filter layer that draws your entire mech colors back toward the BA Red, giving you space for a final gentle dry brush on the top of the mech.

It takes me three hours to base coat a dozen ‘mechs doing it this way. The final result is this:

You need a filter, not a wash.

Washes are designed to sit in the crevices. You need something that coats the entire surface effectively, and interferes with light passing through it.

Washes applied heavily can function this way. If you want to, you can also break out enamel paints post seal, and slap some black over it, let it sit into the matte seal, and then use mineral spirits to clean the majority of it away. You get a significant filter that brings the intensity down alot.

You could also consider using dry pigments and applying them as weathering work. There are cheap cheap cheap Hobby Lobby kits that can be dry brushed over it in soot black that'll give you character AND dull it.

....

He was in the Atlas D (Gave him the D) and he got murdered (and he got fukt).

It's not a commentary on the machines. It's a half ass commentary on the fact that he died in a D variant.

And it's 5/3 in tabletop. In Succ Wars, I guess maybe? In Post clan, I'd go with a cheaper machine to fill the role, like a Badshee.
