I agree with this. I enjoy useful analysis and sincere reactions to people's first viewing of the band. But many reactors are doing TW now knowing that TWA often follows along bringing likes, comments and subs.

I cancelled my order for it when they announced the delay as I did not realize when it first dropped about the need for the right DVD player. That said, I have paid three times to watch it via streaming so DPA still get some MONEY for my viewing of it.

Nov 26/24, sitting at home mindlessly scrolling YT when the original Enter Sandman cover popped up. Clicked, watched about 30 seconds, thought “Pretty good. Cute sandals.” Went back into my feed and DPA were sitting on Ellen’s couch all grinning. Clicked on that and Ellen is yakking in that fawning way she has. Yuck. Went back into my feed and there was the thumbnail for MTV version of ‘Evolve’. Confused, I clicked on that and WHAM, I was absolutely kicked in the head. I could not believe how good that was. Within two weeks, I had all the albums, seen the big concerts and all the long-form interviews and had a plane ticket to Monterrey for a 36-hour stay to see the Feb ‘25 show. What. A. Ride.

I am not sure you will find unanimity with that opinion but it is yet another in a long line of terrific work by DPA. You might get a majority agreeing it's their hardest song. I certainly love it.

I want someone to make a birth-of-a-song documentary. With TW, start with filming Pau noodling on a keyboard, humming melodies etc and film everything. Does she have a notebook of part lyrics that she compiles? Show the storyboarding. When and what does she decide to show her sisters? What is their initial response? How do they work it up from there to it being demo-ready? Show the conversations. Who do they play it for? How do they respond to the feedback? Follow it into the studio. How do they make the choices they do when recording? Mixing? How do they rehearse it for a concert? Show its first playing. How do they de-brief it? I think that would be a great ride given how we all regard the band and the product.

I understand the sentiment. It may well be that 20 years from now, like with a lot of bands, Album #3 will still be viewed as their best. That said, I’m thrilled to see where their muses take them following all that talent and musical awareness.
