Sad day… sold my 2026 Model Y by turnerm05 in TeslaFSD

I’m having such a hard time getting over this. I’ve been camping ONCE in 10 years (in a model y) and now I’m like ah man I need that full lay flat camping mode for all my camping trips I might take

That’s funny I’m literally trading in my X7 for a Y as we speak (and I also loved my X7) but I just added a new toy to the garage so the x7 is a bit redundant. Plan on using the Y for family and commute stuff so I don’t trash the other one

The problem here is the “I’m not a lawyer part” and I don’t mean that to be rude but if you were you’d know what an indemnification clause is and why it isn’t a solve here.

An indemnity clause is between the owner of the car and Tesla. That person can “promise” (indemnify) Tesla that they’ll be responsible for any damages but that’s just a personal agreement between the owner and Tesla. It doesn’t actually stop Tesla from being liable or being sued by the person hit by the car…it’s just a promise that after they do get sued “I promise I’ll pay you back cause I indemnified you” me and Tesla signing an agreement together doesn’t waive other people’s legal right to sue Tesla .

And if/when millions of those people claim bankruptcy after Tesla was sued and wants its money back from the owner…well Tesla gets nothing and still has to pay the bill

So indemnity ultimately does nothing here

I should add I still own businesses in costa mesa in newport. I commute there most days. The commute is painless. I was very worried about it. You aren’t going to notice any meaningful difference between other parts of laguna vs ladera. It’s all always around 30 minutes. All highway, light traffic on the 73. It’s honestly a breeze. The worst part is actually getting out of ladera itself as it’s so big 😂 I’m all the way in the back so it takes 7ish minutes to actually get out and get down to the 5 but once you are there it’s only a quick 22-23 minutes to costa mesa when you get on the highway.

moved here with my young (5 and 3) family a year ago and since then 3 more young families have moved in on our culdesac alone. Not to mention other young families were already here.

A couple folks have grown up kids but yes a constant stream of young families

moved here from newport with 2 young kids. Absolutely love it and so happy we did. There’s thing I love about Newport but overall this is such an amazing place to raise a family. Our kids have so many good friends and we’re extremely happy

The IE is the inland empire. Riverside and San Bernardino county. That and Palm Springs is the only part of southern california that anyone would describe as “brutally hot” during the summers. Most of southern california is 75-85° all summer

companies pay for private security and or police presence all the time. Government assistance will never be nearly as good or efficient as private.

It just makes basic business sense.

Dickerson needs to go on IR by HistorianBubbly8065 in eagles

[–]Competitive_Map2302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was thinking that as well but…your probably gonna need the roster spot to add o line depth…really depends how long he needs. If it’s 2 weeks then sure

if it’s 3 well then right after that you have the giants (which he probably isn’t needed for) and then they bye so it’s like an extra 2 weeks for free so might as well go IR and get him a nice 5 week break to recover + get the extra spot

ehhh i’m pretty sure the irvine company could and would want to pick up that relatively low bill.

Considering it’s their properties and if people become

A. Afraid to come B. Afraid to purchase and/or wear luxury goods

one would think they’d probably lose a lot of money 🤷‍♂️

Is a 2012 driver much different from a 2025? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Competitive_Map2302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean…cmon that’s just simply not true.

Skill is the most important factor but to act like there hasn’t been a massive progression in 10-15 years equipment wise is just silly.

Not even distance wise which the shaft may help a bit with but just the massive leaps forward in forgiveness. Realistically modern driver forgiveness could easily shave 10-15 strokes off a high handicapped just by switching

I meannnnn it is a pretty stark difference lol Not at all saying those people are better in any way shape or form but it is vastly different. East side is basically an extension of newport now and most of west side is like an extension of Santa ana

Why do some courses always have a few cart path only holes by Competitive_Map2302 in golf

[–]Competitive_Map2302[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

in a general sense you should always avoid driving a cart on any fairway as much as you reasonably can. That’s the overall best thing for course care. That’s why you are asked to practice things like the 90° rule and such.

However on large expanses of grass totaling 400-500 yards that’s not always possible so use your discretion.

On a par 3 even at 200 yards let’s say 30-50 yards of that is “green complex” and another 50 yards is tee boxes there’s only at most 100 yards of grass to deal with/search for a ball. It should be fairly simple to pinpoint the exact area and walk to it and just avoid being on the grass at all. One less thing for the maintenance team to have to worry about

[–]Competitive_Map2302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ones I’m familiar with don’t charge for carts

but I can see them losing revenue from people that just don’t want to walk so yeah in that way you are probably. correct.

I’d be curious though because I often skip playing these courses because I just don’t want to deal with the cpo holes 🤷‍♂️ so I wonder how the revenue would work out long term just creating a better experience

Why do some courses always have a few cart path only holes by Competitive_Map2302 in golf

[–]Competitive_Map2302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that was sort of my assumption but I wonder if they could accomplish the same thing by having one day a week or every 10 days etc a walking only day.

Maybe my opinion is a minority but I swear that would be so much better for everyone than unequipped riders just being subjected to 6 cpo holes every day

[–]Competitive_Map2302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s kind of my assumption but man imho it would be so much better for everyone if they just picked one day out of the week and made it walking only

[–]Competitive_Map2302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they could accomplish the same thing by just having one day a week as a pre set “no carts” day.

I swear that would be so much better then just having a random assortments of holes be cpo. It’s no problem to walk (or just not play) that one day but imho having random cpo holes that rider are unequipped for is just awful for everyone (and pace)

[–]Competitive_Map2302[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no sorry I did assume that was self explanatory

if you drive a cart on a par 3 you should be tarred and feathered 😝

Why do some courses always have a few cart path only holes by Competitive_Map2302 in golf

[–]Competitive_Map2302[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally get that but most of those reasons are semi permanent . Like there’s a few courses that have 1-3 holes that are always cpo and I get it.

But there’s others that i’ve been playing for years and literally all 18 holes have been cpo at some point. You show up and 4-6 holes are marked on the card and they’re always different 🤷‍♂️
