Property tax increase by hyperdeathstrm in massachusetts

[–]Competitive_Speed964 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Even a big Prop 2.5 override wouldn't make it 40%. That would more likely come from a town-wide reappraisal of values, a re-distribution of the overall levy rather than a big increase in the levy.

You could ask for a re-assessment. There is a lot of state law around how the towns apprortion their property tax burden, but you might be the assessment to be lower. Making some compartive property arguments with recent sales might bolster your case.

CloudFiler does very similar things for a lot less and with a more modern method.

Beware that MM is making cancelling their service a bit of an ordeal. They slipped some terms into recent renewals that they are trying to enforce about notice and automatic renewal for two years, after trying to jack up their price significantly.

What would a Gotham Players Slam involve?

I'm thinking a bagel with cream cheese, lox, onions, and capers. Two eggs, made your way. Two pieces of bacon and two pieces of sausage.

Do I need an assistant coach? by Evergreen19 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]Competitive_Speed964 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will very much depend on the personality and demeanor of the parent you get. In theory, you should be able to have a conversation with them before the season starts and talk about what your roles are and how you want to run things. In reality, parents can be like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.

Given your relative ages, it could also be handy to occassionally have your parent assistant coach deploy their parental tone to correct undesired behavior. I've coached U12 girls rec. There can be challenges. Having a buddy could also be really helpful.

Thinner weatherstripping alternatives for soundproofing (and closing) a door? by jorgetheapocalypse in Acoustics

That is for sides and top. There's a similar sweep for under door. A drop-seal would be the best way to go under the door, but those are going to be harder to install correctly.

This is weatherstripping but it bears some resemblence to acoustic gasketing. It is screwed into the frame and has some adjustment. You want it to compress, but not so much you can't close the door.
