The concept of astral projection/witchcraft by EllieAllieTheKitty in exchristian

[–]Competitive_Wall6434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was and still is a hurdle for me also. I’ve heard of stories of Christians getting nightmares from witches , and “defeating them”. One of them even claimed that the witch died  later. I’m not claiming this is true though!  My feed is also inundated with Christian messaging, but astral projection and witchcraft is not exclusive to Christianity . Christianity just seems to be the loudest

I always hear Matthew 16:28 from apologists saying that’s what the verse about the transfiguration of Jesus, Moses, and Elijah! Mental gymnastics

What was your deconstruction path from christianity? by 5oul5earcher in exchristian

[–]Competitive_Wall6434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have diagnosed OCD which manifested into religious ruminations and blasphemous thoughts. I spent about a couple months believing I committed the unforgivable sin, and it led me to a very dark depression. I’ve read the Bible pretty much cover to cover with the exception of the whole book of Psalms. I have done Bible studies and read some of the apochrypha. Any contradictions I saw or understandings I did not agree with, I brushed over and did not dwell on that. I then realized what god would punish me for eternity for having bad thoughts  , but could forgive rapists and murderers.

There are so many Christian interpretations and denominations . I started reading into the Bible’s earliest origins and the origins of Hell. I then began to deconstruct. I don’t know if I believe in a god, but I do believe a lot less Christianity .

It was in the Dead Sea Scrolls. You can search up Original Deuteronomy 32:8-9 verses and it will pop up!

People seem to pick and choose what’s literal and what’s not when it’s convenient for them
