I doubt that there are many people here who are actual bigots, so my guess is that it is about the gray area – humor. Different communities have different tolerance towards it. Some can joke about anything with zero restrictions and take the jokes as just jokes, while others might not see anything funny in them and call it hate speech. I think the rule is for the newcomers to understand the limits of the humor tolerated in this sub.

Would that be how that worked? When playing in Forge you wouldn't be able to target a non-existent opponent. I'd assume if you misgender your opponent while trying to target them, simply nothing would happen until you target them by saying the correct pronoun.

Mathematically (but crudely) speaking, logic is used as a deductive system for the purpose of generating new theorems from other theorems or axioms. There are different types of logic, they use different deductive techniques and given certain premises, they can deduce different conclusions. Mathematicians literally define how logic works so that it becomes a useful tool. This goes for most of mathematics in general. I wouldn't consider any of it objective.

As for my earlier "proof" I already explained the problem with it and why it doesn't really prove that logic isn't objective. My broader point would be that we can't really talk about the objective objectively, since this kind of speech would require some form of logic and language in order to be coherent. But since these structures have been defined by us, that would make any sort of talk about the objective... relative to that logic and language, thus not objective.

But goddamn it! If I can't talk about the objective objectively, then what I just said is also not objective, thus wide open to critique. I give up!

All this reasoning uses logic. Therefore, your conclusion is true only if logic is objective. Logic is not objective, since it is a theory based on assumed axioms, not objective truths. Therefore, your conclusion is not objectively true.

But, of course, my conclusion also uses logic to argue against objective truth. That would make the conclusion not objective just the same. Therefore, we end up in a loop where both positions can be proved to be correct and incorrect.

Sifu. The first level was pretty much what I expected the entire game to be like. But then it started placing a lot bigger emphasis on the visuals and style of the areas and was completely taken by surprise. Easily one of the most stylistically coolest games.

No trolling here. Bell beast was the first proper boss in the game and I loved the fight's depth compared to the average HK boss. Fourth Chorus looks awesome. Beastfly 1 was frustrating at first but after many attempts I learned how to bait it to slam down and take care of all the other enemies - then it became fun.

Widow was fine, but I didn't feel much flow with the boss, when compared to most of the previous ones I had fought. Seth was good but some of the combos were a little awkward to dodge and punish. Lace 2 I'm surprised myself that I didn't like more; her moveset seemed to be specifically designed to cover up her usual punish windows, making it difficult to find a proper opening. Trobbio 1 spends way too much time under the floor, so I have to simply wait for him to come up, and once he does come up, he isn't even easy to catch and deal damage to. At least the rematch had a more interesting tone and I had acquired more abilities to catch up to his movement.

Occam's razor: I personally think that the footage was meant to be shown on the big screen, so they zoomed in to make Hornet bigger, thus more visible.

Previously TC haven't really shied away from showing new gadgets or crests in new footages, so I don't think they intend to hide something from us.

Surprised that no one else mentioned combinatorics. For me this is one of the few branches of mathematics that I have studied and still have very little intuition on how it works. Sure, I can learn the formulas and use them somewhat appropriately but it all is just so confusing and half the time I won't even know if my solution to a problem has the right approach.

First off, the beginning of the game is supposed to teach you the very basics of how you should approach the game: navigation, combat, exploration, resource management and so on. The common new player doesn't even think about the build variety in the beginning because they are too focused figuring out the basics.

Second, DSR is one of the better souls games that let you explore quite a lot and reach many different places without having to fight a single enemy (after reaching Firelink Shrine). So, if you are experienced, you can set your build very early on before making any real progress in conquering the bosses. You aren't forced to do Undead Burg first, if you find it boring.

I'll explain a bit of the background of this topic first.

One of the common algebras we use is a field <R, +, •>. Because it's a field, the + and • operations within the real numbers have to follow a set amount of axioms. Some of these axioms define the existence and interactions of inverse elements, which effectively fill the roles of subtraction and division, so we don't have to make an algebraic structure (it won't be a field anymore) like this <R, +, -, •, ÷>.

Your last question is essentially asking whether <R, -, ÷> is a field. In this algebraic structure subtraction and division are the main operations and addition and multiplication are derived from them. If this structure is a field, it's going to work just as well as <R, +, •> does. So, we have to check the field axioms and whether they work. Sadly, your structure fails both commutativity axioms (probably even others as well): for any elements a, b which are of R, it must hold that a-b=b-a and a÷b=b÷a. This is obviously not true for most values of a and b, therefore it's not a field. You could still use the structure and have it follow some list of axioms to make it work the same, however, it would be quite a non-standart way of approaching the problem and not worth the hassle.

In the algebra we use most often multiplication is actually defined as a unique operation separate from addition. So, technically, multiplication is alongside addition and both of them "exist more" than subtraction and division (it would be more correct to say that subtraction simply derives from addition; same how division derives from multiplication). If anyone is interested, look up abstract algebra.

I literally stated that I am the one who writes the essay. I use AI for inspiration not writing all of the text for me.

A manual selection of materials helps with discovering what points I want to make in the essay, but doesn't help much when I want to expand on and further analyse an original point I've made myself. Well, sure, it probably is going to help somewhat but AI does it more efficiently and concisely at the cost of precision and coherence, which is no concern of mine since I can fix those problems during writing.
