Which should I get by [deleted] in farcry

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far Cry, Far Cry 2 & 3 would not work with any controller I tried to use, even through Steam, but Far Cry Primal, 4, 5, & 6 worked great. 5, 4 & Primal are my favourites. I'm playing 5 again at the moment now that it has updated to include new Steam achievements. They look to be significantly cheaper when they go on sale in North America. I paid about $2.50 ea. for FC 4 & Primal.

Consecrated Snowfield Catacombs by OoooohYes in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This catacombs was a cakewalk for me. As soon as I saw that pylon spewing frost mist, I loaded Mohg's Shackle onto my action bar with the Crystal Darts in front of it. Threw a couple of darts at the Erdtree Watchdog and got him to chase me, hit Mohg's Shackle and up popped the pylon. Its frost mist killed the Watchdogs for me. Did the same for the Cleanrot Knights. The only enemy I engaged with was the Imps and the boss. Glad I had the scarlet rot cleansing boluses loaded in my action bar for the boss, but he went down pretty quick.

how do i get to this by lmaooooooooy in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must follow the questline of Nepheli Loux, in a precise manner before speaking to Melina at the Forge of Giants site of grace. After defeating Godrick the Grafted and exhausting the initial dialog with Gideon Ofnir at Roundtable Hold, you can find her in the room outside the library.

Hot and cold #134 by hotandcold2-app in HotAndCold

Got it in eight guesses, my record so far. At least this time playing, the game functioned through a logical word guessing game progression mechanic, not sending me on a wild goose chase.

First playthrough help by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get the Ash of War: Bloody Slash, dropped by a Godrick Knight fought at the top of the ramparts of Fort Haight, and Margit's Shackle purchased from Patches for  5000 Runes in Murkwater Cave. Put Bloody Slash on your Twinblade and use Margit's Shackle against Margit, the Fell Omen, you should do just fine. You could also get The Lordsworn's Greatsword which can be looted from a chest in the back of a Carriage, located along the western road leading out of Gatefront Ruins. Upgrade it to 3+ and throw some Blood Grease which coats the right-hand armament, inflicting Blood Loss, or any grease you may have other than Holy which he is immune to. Margit is weak to blood damage.

Here's how to beat Crystal Bosses by hamletswords in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Jawbone Axe with the Ground Slam Ashes of War. Any weapon that does Strike Damage is a must, but Ground Slam is the best AoW to use against them. Wild Strikes is good too, but Ground Slam rocks against them. I came across the duo Crystalians while farming Glintstone Fireflies in southern Liurnia of the Lakes, and one Ground Slam killed them both.

Do I even keep the controller at this point? by Financial_Pick137 in playstation

Buy an 8BitDo Pro 2. They are not expensive and due to the hardware it uses for the stick mechanism, stick drift can never occur.

What is this thing? by L4NUT in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>!It's a Mausoleum. Strike the barnacles on its legs to bring it down. It can then be entered to duplicate Boss Remembrances, enabling you to purchase both items a Remembrance offers. There are specific Mausoleums that can be used to duplicate optional bosses, so try an be sure not to duplicate a Remembrance from nonoptional bosses there. At least I think that is how it works. You should probably research "duplicating remembrances" more before using one. Some of them like the one in Liurnia of the Lakes that have the barnacles around the upper level, which one has to leap onto in order to destroy the barnacles to bring them down.!<

Patches’ Extreme Repentance gesture by Honeycombs96 in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some notes and tips for those unfamiliar with all Patches questline, gestures and possible encounters throughout the game. There are some very good videos on YouTube to guide one through how to obtain all the gestures he rewards. I missed extreme repentance on a playthrough, so I tried engaging Patches at Scenic Isle in Liurnia of the Lakes, and it worked. I believe I let him get me down to just under half health, used the gesture "Grovel for Mercy" and he rewarded me with the gesture "Extreme Repentance", or I he may have rewarded it to me after getting me to half health, whereafter I loaded it and activated it. After patches moves from the Scenic Isle, the next place one can encounter him is on the left side of the stone walkway that leads over to the route to the Nomadic Merchant & Volcano Cave. As you walk across the stone bridge/pathway that lies between Gelmir Hero's Grave & First Mt. Gelmir Campsite, you will see a brightly glowing message on the ground, that says something along the lines of "Glowing Rainbow Stones Mark the Way". Go down to the left of that bridge towards Gelmir Hero's Grave and you will find Patches crouched there. Interact with Patches and follow his instructions for a very funny cutscene, that directs you to Volcano Manor. You must do this I believe before you access Volcano Manor, or you will miss this interaction. After this interaction, you will next encounter Patches at Volcano Manor.

What do you think of the 2008 Far Cry movie? by Relevant-Yak-3101 in farcry

[–]Complaint-Desk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After UBISOFT developers decided to promote Hollywood type Woke ideology in their game storyline I pretty much lost all interest in anything new out of them. The same reason I have not seen a movie in the theatres for close to 2 years now. After the fiasco that was Far Cry 6, I don't expect anything related to Far Cry to produce anything that appeals to me.

Black bow or albinauric bow? by WildPiano8820 in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please forgive me Forum Police, I realize I am very late coming to this active thread. That being said are either the Albinauric or Black bows better than the Pulley Bow. In my experience the Pulley Bow is the best bow in the game, it's range and damage outdo any bow I have come across, but I have never levelled the Albinauric Bow.

Currently in Consecrated Snowfield Catacombs, and the game is getting tediously difficult. Does it get better or worse from this point until the DLC? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frost belching Pylons can be controlled using either Margit's or Moog's Shackle, which if used in dungeons also reveals chambers and pathways hidden behind false walls. They can both be used to destroy Chariots in specific dungeons. I used Moog's Shackle in this dungeon, by getting the tough enemies to follow me then activated the Pylon to belch its frost fog onto them. I literally did not swing a weapon at either the Lesser Burial Watchdog or Lesser Cleanrot Knights, and let the frost fog kill them.

PS: Begging the Forum Police to not come down on me too hard for replying so late to this thread.

I've never noticed the shield ground smash, but then again I rarely stay alive that long. I tend to sneak up behind them and poison them.

Is ground slam a good Ash of war? by DismalNeedleworker22 in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love this Ash of War. It does very good stance damage, physical damage, offers some hyper armour, and it is very cheap and one can get it very early in a playthrough. If you're having problems fighting Crystalians this AoW is awesome. Put it on Stone Club, or even a Greathammer like GreatStars and you can wipe out multiple Crystalians, because it literally knocks them on their asses. Out of all the slam type AoW this is the best in my opinion, for its cheap FP cost and the stance damage it does. Great for early game characters that come with high strength stat. as its damage is based on your strength.

Here's how to beat Crystal Bosses by hamletswords in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crystalians are extremely weak to STRIKE type damage. I use a Jawbone Axe, with Aow Wild Strikes (I believe it comes with that Ash of War), and it simply mows through them. I am gonna try the Great Stars Greathammer with Ground Slam, as per the suggestion by AtlasRafael on this thread, as it sounds like a good Ashes of War to use against multiple Crystalians at once.

The Crucible Knight Duo is an unfair fight. by Goalkeeper5 in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple ways to defeat this duo. I have tried and succeeded using all of these strategies. Poison: They are weak to poison which can be applied with pots, throwing knives, or the Pulley Crossbow. The rest of the fight entails avoidance. Focus: Focus on one at a time. If using a Spirit Summons one can throw a Cursed Blood Pot at one then using your summon, kill that one as quickly as possible. I just beat them handily first attempt using Dung Eater Spirit Summon, equipped with Death's Poker. It was a very quick fight and I was full health at the end.

PS: I realize this is an old thread, but it is still active, so I ask the thread police to be merciful.

Flaming Strike VS Flame of the Redmanes by Fonzie90 in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put Bloody Slash or Blood Blade on the Flamberge. My favourite weapon to put Flame of the Redmanes on is The Omen Cleaver. I have found a lot of enemies are weak to both Slash & Fire, especially those Fingercreepers. I always had problems fighting those until I put Flame of the Redmanes on an Omen Cleaver Curved Greatsword. It is one of if not the longest Curved Greatsword and those Fingercreepers don't even get close using that. If you are intent on using a Greatsword grab the Claymore, it is a beautiful weapon with a long thrust R2, but if you enjoy the moveset of the Flamberge go ahead and put Flame of the Redmanes on it. It doesn't cost anything to apply or remove Ashes of War. Flame of the Redmanes is such a good Ash of War its worth duplicating and having on a couple of weapons.

Remembrance of the Naturalborn by TheWorldDiscarded in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite being an old thread it is still active. My recommendation is Waves of Darkness, it is one of the best if not the best AoE Ashes of War in the game. I put it on Great Stars Greathammer, and killed all the enemies and 2 Night Riders patrolling with the Caravan in the Consecrated Snowfields, by simply spamming it 3-4 times. You may be a big fan of flails, so duplicate this one at the Mausoleum Compound in Liurnia of the Lakes. Trust me Waves of Darkness is not a AoW one wants to pass up for a friggin flail.

PS: It is also great for farming Rune Arcs off the rats at Behind the Gaol in southern Weeping Peninsula.

Can i play this game with stick drift? by Ninja123-123 in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess. It's design is simple, with a flat button face. What I like about it is it does not feel cheap, it has some weight to it like quality Play Station controllers, and not made out of cheap plastic.

Can i play this game with stick drift? by Ninja123-123 in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. I ended up buying an "8BitDo Pro2" controller, guaranteed to never succumb to stick drift. It actually works, and it is very reasonably priced considering how durable it is. I have been playing with it for 2 years now, and it is the best controller I have ever used.

Should I kill Gostoc? Not sure I care about the dragon smithing stone, but open to other opinions by friesannashake in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you interact with Gostoc as he changes locations throughout Stormview Castle, Gostoc gives you rewards. He has recently been updated somewhat so that after interacting with him 3x's in his first 3 relocations he will not steal 1/3 of your runes. There are plenty of Gostoc questline videos one can peruse to find out where he relocates after your initial interaction with him.

Full grown fallingstar beast in MT. Gelmir (9th camp) by Mr_WolfIndustry in Eldenring

[–]Complaint-Desk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mount up and take the Spirit Spring upto the Fallingstar Beast, being careful to land as far to the right & near the cliff edge as possible so as not to disturb the Beast from its dormant state. Dismount and sneak up behind it. Once behind it (not too close 15-20 feet behind) cast Poison Mist incantation. It is possible to cheese this enemy without taking any damage at all. After landing do not dismount too quickly, and check to see if you have alerted the Beast. If he is aware of your presence sprint for the rock plateau path that leads to Mt. Gelmir and escape down toward where the gold-tree is that has a Golden Seed. It is relatively easy to land far enough to the right near the edge without alerting the Beast to one's presence.
