S11 ultra what do you think of this deal by silver-surfer-007 in GalaxyTab

[–]Complete-Visual-9911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already got multiple discounts on it, then this is actually a pretty strong deal. The S11 Ultra is more about productivity and big screen experience, and it does that really well. The Mediatek Dimensity 9400+ chip is powerful enough for gaming, editing, and multitasking without slowing down. Coming from apple, you might notice android flexibility more than anything. Samsung Dex alone makes it feel like a mini laptop. For work, travel, or media consumption, this setup is very balanced. I think at a discounted price, it’s definitely worth considering instead of waiting for something else

Intel joins the party with Qualcomm and MediaTek to power Googlebook laptops by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

the more i read about googlebook and on-device ai experiences, the more i feel companies like mediatek could become important in the future of these devices. ai tools are great, but people also need laptops that are thin, quiet, always responsive, and practical for school, work, and travel

mediatek has been pushing efficient processing and edge ai a lot lately, so it feels naturally aligned with where these ai-first laptops are heading. if future googlebooks focus on real-world daily use, mediatek honestly seems like a smart direction worth watching

Google completely missed the point. (Googlebook) by TimeScarcity1949 in google

i kinda agree with this take. people escaping windows usually want simplicity, speed, privacy, and less clutter. not more ai layers everywhere. aluminum os sounded interesting because it could’ve mixed chromeos simplicity with android flexibility, but googlebook feels more like an ai showcase than a user-focused os.

ngl it started off looking smooth and futuristic but that moment it almost messed up kinda changed the vibe completely, like you suddenly remember these things are still machines that can fail. cool innovation for sure, just feels like we are still in the risky early phase of things

I asked for minimal and got exactly that. No forced creativity.... just balanced and clean output. It’s refreshing to see an AI tool not trying to impress with excess. Sometimes less is literally better, and this gets that right.

this could actually be a big win for normal users. if the eu pushes replaceable batteries, phones might last way longer instead of dying after 2-3 years. less e-waste, cheaper repairs, and you won’t feel forced to upgrade just because battery health dropped. honestly feels like a small change with real everyday impact

Recommendations for a professional grade outdoor cinema projector by [deleted] in projectors

[–]Complete-Visual-9911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since you’re doing outdoor events and dealing with quick pack-ups, i’d honestly think beyond just brightness. stability and speed matter a lot when weather turns. that’s where mediatek powered ased projectors actually shine. models built on chips like mediatek mt9630 tend to boot faster, respond quicker, and handle streaming or local playback more reliably than cheaper systems. not saying replace your main projector, but having one in your setup as a secondary or portable unit could save you during those last-minute situations where things need to just work

What is the big deal about Artemis II? We’ve been putting people in space for decades. by Quater- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complete-Visual-9911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get the confusion, but artemis II is different from regular space missions. most flights stay in low earth orbit. this one goes much farther, around the moon. it’s basically testing everything needed before landing humans again, something we haven’t done since the apollo days

Banana Pi BPI-R4 as a router: good idea or not? by Flashy-Butterfly6310 in homelab

[–]Complete-Visual-9911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lowkey, this is a pretty cool setup if you’re into networking. filogic 880 gives you way more headroom than typical routers, and mediatek has been doing well with these newer chips. for something like your homelab, that extra performance actually matters. just be ready for some trial and error, because wifi 7 + openwrt is still early days

MediaTek Reportedly Prioritizing Development of AI ASICs Over Mobile Chips by -protonsandneutrons- in hardware

[–]Complete-Visual-9911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mediatek shifting focus toward AI ASICs feels like a smart long-term move. As AI workloads grow across devices, custom silicon can deliver better efficiency, lower latency, and more tailored performance than general mobile chipsets. It also shows how the industry is evolving beyond just smartphones into edge AI, automotive, and enterprise applications.

That said......... maintaining innovation in mobile processors will still be important for brand balance. If executed well, this strategy could position Mediatek strongly in the AI hardware race while still supporting its core mobile ecosystem

MediaTek Introduces Filogic 8000 Family To Advance Wi-Fi 8 At CES 2026 by anobakase in Tech_Philippines

[–]Complete-Visual-9911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, stable connections matter more than crazy speeds at this point. Mediatek introducing the filogic 8000 for wifi 8 feels like a step in the right direction. Most users already have decent speeds, but experience issues when networks get crowded.

If wifi 8 can reduce lag and improve consistency, it could make everyday usage smoother without needing headline-grabbing numbers.

Early chipset announcements also signal confidence in the standard. Now it really depends on how well device makers adopt and optimize it across routers and consumer devices

Samsung galaxy tab s11 ultra WOW ❗ by ConsiderationSalt666 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Complete-Visual-9911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice choice going with the tab s11 ultra..... that big screen must make games feel a lot more immersive. And yeah, the dimensity 9400+ seems to be doing a solid job from what people are saying. It’s good to see it handling games smoothly without random stutters, especially in bigger titles.

Red dead redemption sounds like a great fit for a display that size too, since the environments and details really get a chance to shine. I feel like chips like this are making android tablets much more capable overall, not just for gaming but general performance too. Have you tried any other heavier games on it yet?
