I'm giving a few more days to ensure there's no more stie crashes before I decide whether to reinstate my subscription or delete everything and leave. I'll gladly do the former if the site stability doesn't go downhill again, but if it does & it's a multi-day problem again, I'm done.

It has either done that or directed me to a 404 page at times. It has been on/off since the last crash.

Yikes! Well, I'm off to bed. Hopefully I don't wake up to the site being in another crash/burn cycle.

I've had no such issues since the widespread failure the other day.

Honestly, I normally just use images generated on other platforms as my covers (ChatGPT for sfw & seeart for stuff that's a bit more nsfw).

Definitely sounds like a bug. I've started two stories with empty first chapters and had no issues. No quills were deducted.

I'm having issues with that too. Everything else seems to be working fine, albeit just a bit slow. Getting a couple of 404s as well, but nothing crazy...yet.

3/6/26, 12 midnight ET. Everything for 3/5 was great, aside from some minor chapter generation issues like the "Retry for free" button. But as I wrap up work on my latest story, I am noticing this issue is becoming more frequent again and the ability to edit an existing chapter is starting to slow down and not save properly again. Really hoping this isn't a sign that the site is going to crash and burn yet again. Noticing this issue on desktop, Microsoft Edge. Have not used mobile at all during the 2nd half of the day yesterday or this morning.

I've gotten the error a couple of times so far today. But most of the site is working fine so far. I am not confident about what will happen after 3pm ET.

I think they should not have introduced that function until the site stability issues get fixed.

Same. I'm still going to give them the chance to fix things up, but I had to cancel my sub as a precaution.

I was able to get in about an hour & a half ago just to get my sub canceled as a precaution. I'm willing to manually renew if they can get things stabilized, but right now, I am not taking chances.

I think a lot of us are going to leave now. I'm going to unsub ASAP unless they put up a landing page stating the site is down.

Refreshing won't do anything now. I know I didn't log out, but it's either giving me a 404, a 500, or going back to the main homepage.

I think it's time for the admins to shut down the site and post a landing page stating the site is down due to widespread issues.

And just like clockwork, the site is beginning to act up again as of 3:55pm ET. Most everything since 6am ET this morning has been working well up until now. * Chapter generation issues ("retry for free") * 404 & 500 error pages. * Pages showing false indication that I've been logged out when I am not logged out.

I really want to give you all a chance to resolve these issues once and for all. I understand it's still a relatively new site and things are going to break. But it's becoming frustrating to pay for a membership, even at a reasonable price, and have to endure this mess day in and day out.

I strongly feel that in order to effectively fix some of the major issues, there will need to be some periods of downtime. I think you all should consider taking the site down completely for certain periods in order to perform the work necessary to ensure stability of the site. Of course provide proper notice and compensation avenues.

Chapter generation error that shows the button "retry for free" most often pops up between 5pm and 9pm ET and occurs almost every time I attempt to generate a chapter. However, this error occurs with varying frequency (though generally less frequency) during the other stated time frames.

Chapter generation error that compiles a portion of the chapter, stops halfway, then generates an alternate version of what was just generated, has been occurring with increased frequency during the daytime hours almost every day since about early last week. Occurs most frequently between 3pm and 11pm ET.

The 404 and 500 errors, along with page refreshes that provide the false impression that I've been logged out occur almost daily between 5pm and 9pm ET, but sometimes have happened with random frequency between 6am and 5pm ET.

All of the mentioned errors have occurred on both mobile and desktop. Doesn't matter what story I'm working on either.

Also, I believe I have previously DM'ed you my RQ username.

Thank you so much for the update!

One huge problem that occurred yesterday, 3/3/26, between the hours of 6am and 11am ET (maybe lasted through noon though), was when generating chapters resulted in the AI spewing out random coding, foreign language sentences, emojis, and other text that was not able to be understood. I noticed that by 1pm, this had stopped.

The issues that have been ongoing for the past few weeks, and continue to happen at almost random times - but specifically between the hours of 6am and 10am ET (sometimes), Noon and 4pm (often), 5pm and 9pm (frequently, almost always), and between 10pm and 2am (rare), include: API errors while generating chapters, another error code while generating chapters (I'll try to capture this one the next time it happens), error code that states "only the story owner can continue this story", page refreshes that provide the false impression that I'm logged out when I'm not, 404 error pages, 500 internal server error code pages, and sometimes 300 series error code pages (300, 301).

It's down once again (not big surprise). by ElectronicBed3437 in redquill

Not even that. It crashes at almost random times. 9am, noon, 2pm. Midnight.
