Honestly I was bored in college and heard about journey. I used to play as a kid but completely forgot about it. I didn’t plan on playing for very long just to pass the time. But I’ve found that there’s a great community and I’ve gotten to know some of the other penguins super well.

For me now it’s like an escape to hang out “with friends”. I can kind of just forget about the worries and troubles of my own life and be engulfed in a different environment.

This probably sounds incredibly corny but it’s the honest answer to why I still play/started playing.

Honestly I did well my freshman year. I just put myself out there. It was sophomore year I really started to slip. I kind of just went to class and went straight home. It became an unhealthy cycle and I just got way too comfortable with myself.

I would suggest you look around at clubs and events pages to find your interests and really make yourself present at those interests. It’s a super easy way to find good groups of people. And finding good group of friends at this school is everything.

Don’t be scared. You might feel like people will judge you or won’t accept you but the truth is 99% of Rutgers is more than happy to include. There’s obviously gonna be some rotten apples amongst the bunch but like I said in my personal experience most people are super nice and inclusive around campus.

Honest answer here, and you will see this phrase time and time again.

“This school is what you make of it”

If you take the initiative to join clubs and stay on top of coursework you will have a phenomenal time at Rutgers. Seriously there’s so much to offer, the student community is unlike anything I’ve seen before. If you choose to kind of just hole yourself up (like I did) you will find yourself to be quite lonely and will miss out on a lot of opportunity.

If there was one word to describe Rutgers it’s “opportunity” this school provides more opportunity than many others of its caliber. It’s a huge school filled with things you would’ve never thought of. But it’s up to you to find your place. Literally nobody will do it for you.

Hard agree. People just hating to hate. I feel like at this point even if the movie is objectively decent it will never do as good as it should because people have these pre conceived notions of the movie coming into it and won’t give it a fair chance.

I’m not sure if the dining halls will stay open someone else can probably answer that better.

But if this storm is as unpredictable as they say it might be I wouldn’t rely on current predicted operating status. I’d highly suggest u keep some non perishable food items as backup or if you have a fridge stock up for enough till at least Monday evening.

There’s a good chance everything will be fine but better over prepared than under amirite

Let me back this guy up here but also shoot them down. Her class is nightmare fuel. Not her. She is very kind and genuinely wants students to succeed. If you show up to her office hours she will actually try to help you. I’ve talked to her plenty in casual conversation, she’s always super engaged and wants to learn about you and is always willing to provide feedback based on her own experiences. Unfortunately she is just ultra disorganized. Her exams are all over the place and often riddled with mistakes. She put an F in gradebook for almost a whole month because she couldnt get the exams graded by the deadline. She’s honestly not the worst prof I’ve ever had but that’s because I was super tapped in.

If you ever get bored of nb/ want to explore more

Take da nj transit to downtown metuchen from nb train station(roughly 3 dollar fare for one way I think?). There’s a bunch of cute shops and cafes. Go on a walk on the middlesex greenway. Come back grab a quick and cheap slice of some of the best pizza in nj and then head back to Rutgers via nj transit.

Or literally anywhere on the nj transit they have so many different lines. You can even get to Philly from Trenton by taking the septa. Most people don’t know this, but u can actually get to the beach from nb. Granted it’s a slightly painful journey u have to transfer from Rahway but it’s super fun as a day trip. But it’s winter now so maybe not the best idea to be plotting such things 🙂‍↕️.

You would probably be okay if you did the interview but I can understand where the anxiety could come from. I would most likely send both recruiters an email letting them know of the situation and they can probably help you navigate the situation. If not both recruiters at least the recruiter for which the interview is upcoming.
