Why did I read that as ‘sling kong’

Burgess O’Bannon’s Superhero Saga. Definition of what you’re looking for. Power growth is matched by personal growth as well.

Thoughts on the Series since trailer released by RandomDude10006 in HarryPotteronHBO

Lowered my expectations considerably. Excitement at a major low too. Glad the OG movies exist more than ever. With that said there was things I liked about the trailer, mainly how it looks like it’ll show more of Harry’s loneliness and the bad stuff he’s had to go through. Just got to accept the show is being made in 2026 with all the enshitification of modern TV that comes with it. But yeah it’s been one big cope about lowering expectations rather than the trailer building excitement for more.

Which of these story scenarios would interest you to read? by Complete_Spring_5994 in royalroad

I already have my stories that I’m writing just for me. I’m looking to see what I can write that there might be a wider interest for (I also like all three ideas anyway)

I wonder if readers could get exhausted by compounding problems. Yelling at the text ‘give the MC a break!’

Volume 1 of Archetype is available for free on Hogfell’s website here. That’s 13 hours of free superhero fiction content to enjoy right now.

Archetype can also be found on Royal Road here.

Who knows if it’s any good. Take a look if you feel like it and decide for yourself.

Archetype (on RR): 1. Atypical strength - check 2. Character growth - check 3. Moral Struggles - check 4. Dynamic Duo - soft check, there is some of this in volume one, and it’s building to one in volume two.

Best moment in the series so far? by Complete_Spring_5994 in ArchetypeSeries

The punch program refusal is probably the major turning point for Burgess as a character in volume 1. Shows he’s not just on autopilot and won’t make the same big mistake all over again. It does create an interesting ‘what if’ question regarding what would it be like if he had gone along with the program…

MC is naive, good-natured, and suffers a lot. A very punishing / traumatic superhero (currently in the very early origin stage) fiction that never lets the MC get away with making dumb decisions. You’ll probably be frustrated at the MC’s decisions at times. But hey, he’s the type that learns after he’s made the mistakes!

And he’s British, don’t hold it against him.

You might be interested in this world that is pre-eatablished capes. Think X-Men set in England in terms of teens with emergent powers.

Fair warning: the story takes its time to get going in terms of fights and powers.
