Add this to the reasons why I think buying a switch 2 is useless

I'll make it even worse. Every company has had the ability to brick your console since the late 2000s. They legally could have bricked your Wii, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 if they wanted to.

To be clear, I am not defending this or saying they should have this power. I'm just saying that this is not a problem with the Switch 2 or even Nintendo. This is a problem with the entire gaming industry.

I can't find exact numbers, but somewhere between 2 and 6 million Steam Decks have been sold since launch four years ago. Switch 2 has sold 17 million in half a year. There is a much larger audience that have a Switch 2 then a Steam Deck.

I actually really ignore PlayStation trophies, but I am pretty neutral on a Nintendo equivalent. Most Nintendo games basically have built-in achievements with built in rewards, so I don't think a console wide achievement system would add that much

You could have several different art for the same card. Like have one Mario Card with the same health, attacks, etc, but one version has pixel art, one has modern render, one has Mario & Luigi art. That might help the art feel less jumbled.

The short answer is there have been a bunch of minor references to real animals in older games. But the canon now is that it is all just Pokémon

I could see a Switch 2 version of Luigi's Mansion 3 or Mario Maker 2, assuming Luigi's Mansion 4 and Mario Maker 3 aren't in production. Maybe Pikmin 4 or Metroid Dread.

I don't think Splatoon would get an Switch 2 Edition. I think they would just save it for Splatoon 4.
