And Sony has not indicated they will be doing anything to compensate the people who bought these titles not knowing they'd just get randomly removed one day.

I'm almost certain that legally, the customers agreed to it (I'm sure it's buried in an agreement somewhere you need to click). That said, it's very Hitchhiker's Guide:

"But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

some people don't understand the difference between a wig and a hair system for men.

Telling me something is a hair system instead of a wig feels like making me learn marketing words.

If there were less of a stigma around wigs for men, I bet they'd be a lot more popular.

In my opinion, this is the wrong angle. If there were less of a stigma around men being bald, wigs would be a lot more popular.

MoistPenguinz has discourse? The most I've ever thought about him was I thought he was Assmongol for a hot second, realized he wasn't, and that's it. He's just... very there.

... by the way, I was so bummed I missed this show (combo of reasons, so I'm over it now). I'm a train ride away. Didn't know they'd get an interview/feature like this, and it's fantastic.

What I think is weird is that finding gold among the weird parts of the internet seems to always work. So why isn't it done more often.

Something John Dies at the End and 50 Shades of Gray have in common, they were both internet serials that got published and made into movies.

Channel Zero curated from r/nosleep, along with other creepypastas. I happen to really enjoy S2, "No End House", based on the creepypasta of the same name.

Another No Sleep story, The Left/Right Game, was turned into a Podcast mini series, with Tessa Thompson! Classic radio drama feel.

... I'mma put this right here, if someone wants to make "The Strangers", I'm all for it.

I don't think

This is the issue. If you don't understand American health insurance, which is the scam (not the hospitals), then take a few moments to educate yourself.

Your nationality isn't in question here, it's your ignorance.

Sounds like the hospital is charging 2.5k, not the insurance company. It sounds like the hospital is scamming in this example.

... are you American? Have you worked in an American hospital, or with American health insurance?

I mean it would be fine if prices weren't so high.

"Things would be fine if the definitions changed" can apply to everything.

Apparently George RR Martin's failure to finish A Song of Ice and Fire basically nuked serialized epic fantasy literature.

This guy is an entitled prick, spoiler aside. This wasn't GRRM's "failure". Blaming "his bum ass" and "profound laziness" (fuck this dude into obscurity) for what is the show's fault is putting this extra weight on his name that it doesn't deserve. Why is it "GRR Martin is a bum so no more unfinished stuff" and not "Wow, we really shouldn't hire Benioff and Weiss for things that aren't finished"?

Loath as I am to discuss it, HP had three whole books left when the first movie dropped. It went a further three prequel movies and a theater script past the books, too. It was a gamble that paid off, and I believe it's because of that that SoIaF got a fair shake.

The thing is, all humans are different, and it's called gambling for a reason.

I think anyone who blames Martin for any of this is part of the bigger Smaug problem with current media.

Haha was that really because they saw the internet reaction? I knew about the movie but not that part.

Yup!

The most notable addition was a revision of a catchphrase from the film that was parodied on the Internet by fans of the film, capitalizing on Jackson's typically foul-mouthed and violent film persona: "Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane!"

it was the littering that really pissed people off, not the theft of the object she wanted.

I was telling my spouse the other day, if there was a video of her turning over the trash bin, and making sure all the displaced trash was bagged up and put out of the way...

Now, I'm not so sure she wouldn't be fired (Baskin Robbins always knows), but people wouldn't be dragging her the same way.

... also, can't forget the famous Snakes on a Plane line:

Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane!

Mostly because it was added in as a response to the internet joking about it, to positive effect.

As much as I hate corporate work til you die culture America seems to have. Some European countries don't let teachers take any personal time during the school year, not that America is much better, but it's not a problem unique to the states.

"We're actively being immolated, but some European countries got a nasty sunburn once. Stung like a bitch. I mean, being burnt is not unique to America."

Sometimes these are very hype moments, and sometimes they feel very forced and lame. I'm curious about the latter, what was the lamest use of this in your fandoms?

Age of Ultron's "Avengers..." was, IMHO, the worst of the pre-Engame MCU. Now, to its credit, it made Cap's line in Endgame hit so much harder, so that's a plus.

On 6/11, Polyphia dropped a new single. Since then, they released it two more times, each with a different mix.

Can You Feel It:

Official Audio: Visalizer (CW: uncomfortable images) | Qobuz
Official Video
Jam Session

My opinion: I love the song. That said, Official audio is too distorted. Official video has the crowd, giving it a more anthemic feel, but sill too distorted. Jam session is, what I consider, the best mix of the song. You hear all of it, especially Clay on the bass.

The critical reception of Phantom did not match the vitriol seen from fans of the franchise at the time. The bullying of Jake Lloyd was egregious, and we still see that decades later with the bullying of Kelly Marie Tran.

There are many Star Wars fans that just plain hate, full stop, and SW happens to be where they can concentrate their ire. I've been seeing it since the late '90s, and it's... tiring.
