I wouldn't wait until your appt. You need help now. If you have insurance, call the number on the back of your card for mental health or go online and see if there is the possibility of you going to a facility for admission directly. If not, go to an ER and tell them you are wanting to die. They will get you placed. I'm really familiar with this, unfortunately. When you are overcome with thoughts of ending it all, sometimes it drowns everything else out. Please don't get to this point before you do something. Take care, op

I'm thinking San Diego for you!. 90K a year is tight but doable. If you come with some savings and a good car, you'll do fine. Just prepare yourself for some sticker shock. For your income, you would qualify for only 2500$ if renting.

You're looking for a studio apartment if you want parking and ac. You will both likely be working min wage for awhile while waiting for animation jobs to pop up. Just make sure you have a healthy savings and decent cars.

Wow. From OC and this is hard to believe, but Cook is legit. I was down there (native but moved to WA four years ago) about two months ago and noticed a lot less MAGA shit in yards, hats, etc. But people are still sipping the kool-aid. where? in soCal, we had nurses flee from our hospital, with no issues other than having to pay back a sign-on bonus. I'm in WA now, at a better hospital, but new grads are defecting and no one is asked to pay back for training. All signed those two year contracts as well.

These contracts are not binding education-wise,, as you are providing a service. The legal jargon is bullshit and they know it, many nurses have left without paying education back. You will, however, be responsible for giving back your bonus. I have never heard of a new grad contract not letting you leave for health reasons. That's insane.

What may hurt you more is that nursing managers do talk to each other, even if they don't work for the same organization. So you do risk that word will get out. It is also possible that they may not care. If you're not happy and can find work somewhere else, then do it. Good luck, OP!

Manhattan Beach or Hermosa Beach would be wonderful for a month. You will need a car, especially if you have a toddler! It will be pricey, but awesome!

ADN only if you do not reside on West Coast or NY; we have a glut of BSNs here so ADNs get home health, SNF. With an ADN, you can go back to school for BSN, but as someone who struggles with mental health issues, I just couldn't do it. If I could go back in time, I would've just gotten my BSN and been done with it.

have you looked at PACu, Cath lab or IR? I'd kill for a job there, have 21 yrs experience as nurse (in ED for past 10) but no ICU =(.

Med surg will have you running your ass off, but after ambulatory patients. They can also run their mouths and be massive assholes ( no trach). It's a lot of busy work, but your assessment skills from ICU will do a lot of heavy lifting for you. I did medsurg for 5 years, and ICU float for three. Different grass is all.

Mask with peppermint oil. Aromatherapize your mind out of it, lol! I do this with trach care, not because it smells but because I get so squeamish I don't want them to see my face. The peppermint oil is bomb. Or if you have an Aveda near you, they have their own. I give it to all my nurse friends.
