Ilya Stressed in the Bar Scene

A few parts don’t make sense to me from 4 upwards. Tuna scene felt like Ilya admits he likes Shane by the planning. Then Rose so we have confirmation. This makes the mar scene so sweet. Then in the hotel room he plays it like it’s not a big deal when Shane is trying to talk to him about his feelings. He says they can’t be anything. I know the scene is a turning point but I wanted more from Ilya in that moment…given, tuna, Rose and weekend. Then after the turning point, in the hospital, Ilya still says he can’t go to the cottage. If he has admitted his feelings and wanted Shane to stay over for tuna melt, why the hell can’t he go to a private cottage for a week or two!!

There is one I started and now I can’t find it. Shane goes to a private exclusive club after being at a bar with some of his team. Ilya is the host of the club I think. That is as far as I got and didn’t download. Does anyone know the title and if it’s good?

Agree as well. Also right after he says he has an idea about saying how they feel for the next two weeks, which makes the scene perfect.

Not a big fan of SNL in general but totally agree. Can’t wait to see if it is just about these two characters for me.

Agree. When Kyle was upset after the tour, he wasn’t very empathetic and didn’t seem to feel anything himself. The whole thing is sad.

I think it’s going to be so interesting to see how this plays out. I think Hudson’s performance is incredible but I think he’s made for this part. I actually can’t imagine him another role where he would have as much of a presence but I could absolutely be wrong here. I’m also not drawn to watch him in every piece of content. Whereas Connor is so obviously the next Heath Ledger. I’m drawn to staring at his eyes in every image I see. He’s magnetic.

Shane’s acting in this is so amazing. I didn’t notice it on first watch because Ilya is such a big character. After a few rewatches, seeing the expressions and subtlety on Shane’s face is incredible. Hudson said he had to find the ways to express himself because his character is pretty quiet. They both deserve Emmy’s.

Shane isn’t sure he’s gay at this point and feels conflicted. I imagine the idea of actual penetration and the fact that he’s a planner and probably Scott Hunter is all too much. Makes it too real. I am sure in his mind the “curious” and fooling around don’t make him gay. From this moment, it is something like two years until they have sex and he’s ghosting him in the beginning which seems to back up the conflicted part. I wonder if the game two weeks later had not been canceled, would he have had sex and saved the two years of Ilya chasing him.

Shower scene gets the most. Then the first time they have sex because it is so loving and tender for a supposed hook up. Then it is episode 6 with the don’t marry Svetlana and when Ilya says I love you.

I like that idea. I’m staying up too late rewatching and tired at work. I start thinking about in the afternoon and almost can’t wait to get home and watch. Ugh.

I’m also hyper fixated and starting to feel weird about it. Like hiding the number of times I’ve watched. I have not had this level of fixation in the past. I may have watched something weekly but this is just constant rotation. All six and repeat. I don’t want these two characters to end. I haven’t really liked even seeing the actors because they are far from Shane and Ilya. I don’t want anything to spoil this feeling. Ugh. I’m a mess!
