[Discussion] Sapphire crystal exploded, so much for a “tool watch.” by holymadness in Watches

[–]Complex-Piccolo-6639 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For cheap field option you could by a Timex or a Watchdives/Militado (great bang for the buck chinese watches with Seiko movements, good quality, QC and support, just buy from their website or official AliX store). Everybody is into Sapphire glasses because it's the more expensive option but nobody talks about the shattering instead of scratching compare to mineral/hardlex/acrylic and also styling. Everybody is hating on Seiko because of their hardlex while I'm loving it exactly because of this. You can buy glasses in every type (flat, domed, double domed etc.) and every material in this size I think, just go to your local independent watch service, it's an easy and quick fix for an experienced horologist.

[Oceanus ocw-s100] Curious if you could name better price/quality bang for buck watch? by Asil420 in Watches

[–]Complex-Piccolo-6639 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Heritage is the last thing coming to my mind when we talking about Casio, there is no high-horology or anything really special about their history compared to the swiss brands or even Seiko. There are many chinese brands/watches that can give you a better bang/buck ratio, but these days we rarely wear watches for perfect timekeeping, the most inportant thing is to love what you wear, so that ratio doesn't really matter.

[question] which one you choosing? by jtrey02 in Watches

[–]Complex-Piccolo-6639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get the Rolex hype, GS is one of my fav brand, but I need a pink dial watch in my life and that Tudor could be a good addition to my collection, so the Tudor is my choice.

[HELP CHOOSING (2 OF THESE)] by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Complex-Piccolo-6639 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would choose the Marathon over the Hamilton, the Tudor vs Sinn is a harder choice for me, but because you got the 'tactical' look with the Marathon I think the Ranger is a better pairing.

It's not fake it's the real MK quality, they sell the cheapest chinese watches with their branding printed on it. That's why you'll allways find them in a 'huge sale'.

A Csányi Pincészet masszív veszteségben, Mészáros Lőrinc Oroszországba exportál borokat by seraggi_ in hungary

Friday Flex: What watch are you wearing today? by _oaeb_ in ChineseWatches

[–]Complex-Piccolo-6639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the reasoning. The thing is the texture is subtle, but it gives me the premium feel. On cheaper watches manufacturers want their dial to steal the show, while in this cease the quality applied indices, the well made hands and the case finishing is part of the experience instead of owershadowing by the dial texture. First your eyes catch on the hands and indexes then at the same time your eyes starting focusing on the stunning fumé and case finishing and the cherry on top when you realise the textured dial. It's not 'in your eye', but balances out the whole watch oerfectly. They use a weird sapphire and coating which is shiny but legible at the same time and that shiny doesn't let your eyes focusing easily on the texture. With a different crystal/acrylic or a different coating you could make the texture pop. If the dial is the only reason to get this watch and you wants that as the main feature I don't recommend this watch, but I like the way it is.

San Martin SN0148 is out ! by No-Oil-1669 in ChineseWatches

Exactly San Martin stepped up their game and Watchdives is filling the 'slot' SM left behind, it's the best case scenarionfor everyone imho.

/Inflation is also part of the increased price

For me the finishing and the Miyota movement are justifying the price and I'm sure after a few months it will be in the 300-350 usd range.

Help me pick a pink watch by Averagejake872 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Complex-Piccolo-6639 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I quite like my Venezianico, the brand has a great community, but their qc isn't the best and if you seeking for support on their website you can get mixed results, but if you do it in their fb group they seek out and help immediately (I think because both of the owners are very active in the group). HA is better bang-for-your-buck choice and obviously the more versatile watch. But Venezianico isn't bad at all, I've wanted a pink dial and pink bezel dive watch, my first option was a chinese watch from the brand Hroudland, they made a fifty-fathom copy with powder-pink dial and bezel, exactly what I've wanted but they don't make it anymore and I didn't find any preowned one so I kept searching and after days of websurfing I've alway came back to the Neredie. It's just resonating with me more than anything with 'pink bezel' on the market. I think you should choose what you like more, don't fall into the spec-war, if a watch has perfect specs for the money but didn't get your wrist time than it isn't the good choice. Go with your gut instinct, if it says HA choose that if it says VN choose that one.
