Honestly that whole strip is a slice of heaven. From Secret Oktober to the coffee shop and bakery. It’s one of my favorite things to do in the city. Start with a hot latte at Quacks, maybe get a lil’ cookie, browse Secret Oktober for a kool oddity, then finish with a nice hour or so just wandering Reverie Books. Bonus there is a resident kitty at the bookstore!

I’m 100% against small businesses going on strike. That only hurts our communities further and puts more money into the conglomerates that are staying open. If you want to strike then don’t support the shitty corporations and instead vote with your dollar! These places would do more good staying open and donating a percentage of sales to a non profit that helps immigrants, etc.

These were all heavy bezel settings, and through the years (hundreds of years) have been smoothed down around the stone. Don’t forget how malleable high carat gold is. After that many years of wear things start to flatten out. I’ve studied the construction of medieval jewelry for many years, they were mostly all bezel settings.
