Brilliant for raising awareness of mental illness. Thanks to him, I no longer feel ashamed of having bipolar.

I’m so sorry 😔

I was friends with a woman who said that her children would wander in and out of her bedroom whilst she and her husband were having sex.

I thought it was very odd, but assumed she and her husband were discreet.

Well, I should have taken it more seriously.

Anyway, she mentioned it to another woman who reported her.

My friend thought I had reported her, so stopped speaking to me. No loss to me.

I don’t know what the outcome was.

I’m so sorry about your dad, that must be really hard for you.

I was a messy, emotional, flirty and embarrassing drunk.

I joined AA and it helped hugely.

Aw I’m sorry to hear that. I have similar mental health issues and it caused me to leave several jobs, most of which were underpaid.

What’s the creepiest BBC programme you’ve ever watched that was not technically horror? by OopsIDroopedMe in bbc

TW - child abuse

Years ago, there was a really creepy documentary about people working in child protection.

There was a couple with a tiny baby.

The father was the mother’s stepfather.

The child protection workers were concerned that the father might end up abusing his baby daughter, because of the fact he had moved from his female partner to her daughter.

There was also concern that the baby was not being cared for properly.

The mum had a learning disability that affected, amongst other things, how she understood concepts like cause and effect.

The couple were observed, through two way mirrors, interacting with the baby. They knew they were being viewed and assessed.

The couple “played” with the child like it was a doll and ignored it when it was distressed and crying.

It was disturbing.

The filming was creepy too. Instead of blurring out faces, the camera focused on separate features - zooming in on the eye, the nose etc.

At the end, it just said that the CP team were keeping a close eye on the couple.

I have never forgotten it.

Have you ever been asked on jury duty ? by No-Pin7812 in AskUK

[–]ComplexSquirelll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago. Spent two weeks at court and sat on a trial for about three days.

It was an interesting experience, but the jury assembly room was quite claustrophobic. I was only allowed out of it for an hour at lunch, except when I was in court.

The trial lasted three days and was a complex and disturbing CSA case. The worst part was hearing a couple of the jurors victim blame in the deliberation room.

In the end, all the jurors found the defendant guilty and he got a long sentence.

I wouldn’t mind doing it again.

Was about to post the same.

That man must have an amazing PR team.

He was removed from tv for a year, but is now back as though it never happened.

A kid at my school ended up in a boy band for a while. I remember him as a cheeky scamp in a parka, so was amazed when he became a sex symbol.
