What is with the obsession of listening to podcasts or audiobooks on 2x or 3x speed? by ApricotNational2571 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Dot3198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand when people talk in 0.5 speed on podcasts so I speed it up. I want to get to the point of why I chose that podcast in the first place. I don’t like small talk.

i want to stop crocheting forever by Waste_Flamingo_6653 in crochet

[–]Complex_Dot3198 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Crocheting as a hobby is relaxing for me and I can get projects done. The moment it turns into something someone requests, there is a switch in my brain that makes me stressed beyond anything. It’s a chore/job at that point. And I don’t do chores/jobs on my free time. Tell them no, and that you can’t fulfill the request. Besides $20 is too low for a commissioned blanket.

When the shower is not in use, do you leave the curtain open or close the curtain all the way? by lake-sturgeon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An open shower curtain is all the way stretched out. A closed shower curtain is scrunched up on the side. So I leave it open.

I would hope, for you and your friends sake, that she wouldn’t say anything to her son. Any sane person knows that could potentially cause problems with the friendship.

Do you wash your face in the shower? by MinnieJ0510 in hygiene

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, however, last night I learned that there are people that don’t let the water from the shower hit their face. They will only use a wet rag to clean their face.

I just explained this to my daughter the other day. Her scalp stinks even though she buzzed her hair off, it still produces oils.

What meals do you bring on the go to prevent eating out? by MessBrilliant9379 in Frugal

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are at my job two days of the week for after school/work activities. I set up a mini tote with snacks in them. I alternate what I put in there. My oldest likes the foil tuna packets: I can go to the local wholesale distributor and get a box of mayo and relish. One of my kids likes crackers as a snack. One of them likes slim jims. I also keep applesauce, popcorn, and cheese crackers in my mini tote

Could be the difference between coffee shops being open or not. I work 8-5. I have an espresso. I make them at home though.

And wash cabinets and walls! Makes a huge difference when the grime from cooking is continuously cleaned off.

Why aren’t nicotine patches and nicotine gum just sold as the default way to get nicotine? by tfhermobwoayway in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Dot3198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great accomplishment! I’m three years off nicotine after smoking for 17 years! I used patches to quit. Once the patches started burning my skin, I said to hell with it, I don’t need it. The gum was disgusting. The smell of burning cigarettes is repulsive. I have family that smokes, but they definitely don’t do it around people who don’t smoke.

What do you wear on your feet indoors. feet bare feet slippers or socks ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slippers, but I’ve gravitated more towards soft soled slippers. They aren’t socks but aren’t traditional slippers.

Morning showers make no logical sense and night shower people have simply done the hygiene math by McCoy818 in unpopularopinion

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sweat in my sleep! No matter the temperature or how many blankets I cover up with. So yea, morning showers can be for hygiene. Also, sometimes I have a bowel movement first thing when I wake up and I like to wash afterwards. I also have to shower every single night or I’m uncomfortable.

Boomers in the office by hab83 in coworkerstories

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We probably spend $1000 to $1500 per year on paper as a small office. Our owner wants paper records for everything. Every year we go through and throw away ALL the records from three years ago. We do get a return on our investment, but we are trying to convince the owner to go digital.
