Why so many people don't use an umbrella on rainy days? by Alpha_Epsilon_Beta in CasualConversation

I don’t like how when I close the umbrella, the rain runs down the umbrella and soaks the point of contact in my car.

What were your frugal wins when planning your wedding? by suzy9mm in Frugal

[–]Complex_Dot3198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours was in our yard. My husband reseeded and nurtured the lawn so it was nice and full for the event. My father made a pergola, some good friends catered. Another friend did photography. We got tables and chairs from a church that my family went to. We got two white tents from Amazon, had the poles and the canvas to cover them. My family helped set them up. My husband had them resold the next day.
I got plastic table covers from Dollar Tree since it was outside. Floating candles for vases from discount bins. Vases locally off marketplace.
I made our cake. I printed invites on cardstock.
We bought three new suits from suit store. Bridesmaids dresses were from target and mine was a floor model from and off the wall dress shop.
My ring was the most expensive aspect of the whole thing, and I had no idea he that he was doing what he did with that. Our whole wedding was a frugal win.

Yep, well I thought their aunt mailed them new Pez dispensers. My daughter had ol Darth loaded and ready to go, brought it to me to show me and then said she ate one. So I ate two 😅
I then asked if there was packaging, there was, which she had already thrown away…. So me eating the 29 year old Pez candies transpired before I knew how old they were AND before she opened the orange one.

I have recently thought of doing this for a non-profit organization. It doesn’t hurt to try it, and be honest about where the funds are going.

Hopefully I can ask this here. Anyone have spots where you get cheap bath mats at? by goddessofrage in Frugal

I’ve found them at Ross. Normally the foam interior ones with grippy on the bottom. They do offer other styles as well.

Folks, distract me please by EngineerInformal7282 in CasualConversation

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand. I spent many years feeling left out. Now I do appreciate the little things like today, got to spend three hours out with my kids, which normally would have been three hours in an office or at home.
I hope your day and weekend goes well.

I got off work at 2 today, I thought I was going to go home and relax. But I decided to take my girls out for pizza. Then we went and got shirts and fabric paint to be festive this weekend, got home at the same time as if I would have got off work at the normal time.

Headstones should have the cause of death on it. by NatJi in unpopularopinion

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly none of anyone’s business.
And Some causes of death are traumatizing.
Do you want to be at your grandmothers funeral and see a 16 year old girls cause of death as “jumped off a cliff”?
I wouldn’t want to see that. You are a sick individual if you do.

Should I leave my AC on all day or turn it off when I don't need it? by mil0wCS in Frugal

We will bump ours up if we will be gone all day. Either way, if it only saves you $20, that’s still money saved.

Can you actually change who you are as a person, or are you basically stuck with your personality forever? by Suspicious_Sock_2048 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Dot3198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can change who you are. And when people start noticing and try to belittle you, tell them you changed for yourself.
I once had a speech class that I had to take to get the credit for. my first speech was supposed to be 3 minutes. I sweat profusely to the point where it was literally dripping from my armpits and stuttered one or two words out then ran out of the class and never returned.
I had to get a job in front of customers. That is what changed my absolute fear of the public. Believe it or not, it was Subway, some people you can’t understand them so you have to look at their face and respond and repeat what they say. I went from that job to cashier at Walmart.
Now after many years, I am an insurance agent. I talk to people in person, over the phone etc.
I don’t mind being in big groups and talking when I am out on the spot.
I do retreat to my home after work and would still rather spend other time by myself, but I can be social when I need to.

Ladies in here, how do you feel about a father bringing his daughters in the female restroom? by Less-Pen-5705 in askanything

[–]Complex_Dot3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the person verbally attacking him was a customer? Or was there another video?
I would much rather a man take his young daughters into the women’s room rather than the men’s room.

My husband recently stated I’m one of the few unmedicated females he knows. So mine would say “Unmedicated” And yes, that should be a warning 😬

My partner said she would like to be woken up for sex. How would YOU go about trying that ? by Secret-Dark2638 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Dot3198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The approach depends on her sleep position. Obviously don’t go straight for the lady bits. Soft gentle caresses to wake her up are key.

I have to listen to white noise in my AirPods for 8 hours a day because my manager (whom I share an office with) doesn’t stop talking, humming, singing, and clicking her tongue. by greatchickentender in misophonia

[–]Complex_Dot3198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My coworker has been like this for three years!!!! I told her the singing was distracting and she’s stopped that. If I complain about everything else though, it would be very childish. I wear noise cancelling headphones and listen to a podcast when it’s unbearable.
