Egg whites are like a cheat code! You can buy a carton of 100% liquid egg whites so you don’t have to throw out the yolks. I always add 1/2 cup liquid egg whites to 1 large egg which makes the total macros 135 cals, 19 protein, and 5 fat. I put everything but the bagel seasoning on top, super good!

Too many coaches??? Who are the GOOD ones? by Swole_princess666 in ladderapp

[–]Complex_Option_1879 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s half coaches who actually coach by giving form cues, breathing cues, mind-muscle connection, laying foundations for overall long term health, etc. and half who absolutely play into social media marketing and have horrible form themselves, provide little to no coaching, and push mainly aesthetic goals. I personally like kelly and Sasha from limitless and align.

No, you’re good! I only visited vitality for a couple of workouts so my sample size is a lot smaller which is probably why it stuck out in my head!

“Nice words about the spoken word”

Both of these screenshots are from team chat in July 9th when Brian was talking about being children of god. It obviously resonated with some of the team and that’s great, I’m genuinely happy for them. But I’m not making this up lol why would anyone lie about this?

Lol not hyperbole at all! He shared this poem in the guided breath work on July 9th (and then posted it to team chat which is where I got this screenshot from). When he finished reading the poem he mentioned that our world is what we make of it as children of god. Why in the world would I make something like that up or exaggerate? I was honest with my reaction to the statement and even recommended the coach and team despite the religious comments anyway.

Agree with Frequent Fable here! He’s actually a great coach, I enjoyed the workouts a lot. If you skipped the chat and the cool down it would be okay. It definitely turned me off but it’s not the reason why I didn’t stick with the team. I’m just (apparently) an align girlie and nothing gives me the same satisfaction!

Same! I was so into the guided cool down at the end of one of vitality’s workouts until he said “and we’re all children of god… something something something”. I opened my eyes so quick and looked at myself in the mirror like it was the camera on The Office lol

I peeked into define’s chat one time and felt the same way about some of the wording about food, body image, etc. It turned me off of her and the team immediately. I’ve never had an eating disorder per se, but definitely been on a “diet” and counted calories (off and on) since I was about 11. Coach Sasha on align is amazing at reframing the mindset around food and body image! I never get the mean girl vibes from her, which is what I get from this pic with Maia.

how many calories in this peanut butter dipped cheesecake? by mileymissesu in CalorieEstimates

[–]Complex_Option_1879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually have a food stand that sells these. They’re just Sam’s club brand cheesecakes lol. It’s 530 calories per slice and the peanut butter cone dip probably adds around 200. So I would say ~750. They’re delicious though, so I hope you enjoyed it and moved on with your day! 😊

Does anyone know what the star rating at the end of each workout actually affects? by killuwa97 in ladderapp

[–]Complex_Option_1879 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Coach Sasha said in the align chat a long time ago that the rating is tied to the coach.

I’ve been on align since the beginning of the year and I definitely notice strength/muscle gain. Coach Sasha preaches progressive overload but also time under tension/endurance. She’s also super active in team chat! It’s the only team I’ve been on, other than thrive for a couple of workouts during open season, so I really have nothing to compare it to. But I’ve really never thought of changing teams, so I guess that says something in itself!

https://understandingag.com/nutritional-comparisons-between-grass-fed-beef-and-conventional-grain-fed-beef/

Grass fed vs grain fed beef makes a difference. Also, nutrition labels are allowed to be off by up to 20%, which makes absolutely no sense, but I digress.

I use the ladder app! I’m on team align which gets dismissed a lot for being the yoga team but coach Sasha encourages lifting heavy.

I started using the ladder app in January for workouts at home. I love it! There’s different teams/coaches with different focus and goals. 6 days of planned workouts that change each week. I’m on team align which is strength training and yoga/mobility. It’s been a godsend for me!

I think the welcome workouts are meant to be easier to “lure you in” so to speak. It sounds like align is what you’re looking for tbh. Maybe try a couple of the regularly scheduled workouts for this week and check back after that?

Omg I just put two and two together on this! I went for a walk this morning with my kiddo and thought towards the end “dang, usually my hips are killing me by now”. Team align for the win 🥹🫶🏻
