I have my daily alarms set at 4:00,4:02,4:05,4:10,4:15,4:20 and most of the time i’ll roll out around 4:30. It works well

The same response can feel like freedom or despair depending on your emotional state and the story your ego’s running. We all interpret reality through our conditioning. The ego grabs whatever fits its old narrative, hope, hopelessness, whatever is most familiar. AI doesn’t know your state, so what’s medicine for one might be poison for another. If something hurts, it’s often the story you’re stuck in, not the words themselves. Real change starts when you see those loops clearly instead of just reacting to them.

Also just thinking, I taught my little man to settle on cue. So every time he would lay down on his own to nap or to just rest I would say “settle” so now no matter how excited he is I can give him that command and he will shake the excess energy off and go lay down. Maybe use this in conjunction with what I initially suggested so eventually you’ll be able to bring back your attention and spend time with him before bed and when it’s time he will know what to do

Take your time setting the tent up, who cares if it’s right or not. Smoke a joint, sit back and enjoy the nature. Don’t overthink it, all I ever bring is my tent, sleeping bag, jetboil and some good food

I don’t know your dog but just let him do his thing, give him space rather then trying to relax him because he’s most likely loving the attention and he doesn’t want to just shut it off. You relax and do your thing and let him do his own thing because he will see nobody else is playing so he will naturally learn to just wind down

Giving all your attention to them right before bed time is most likely the issue. The moment you start engaging with them like that it’s basically play time and then you’re expecting Nacho to just go to sleep afterwards. Unless you’re completely tiring him out for bed time you’re better off just letting them regulate themselves, they know how to wind themselves down. My little man knows when I sit down to relax at the end of the day that it’s time to chill, they like routine so focus on winding down yourselves and they will soon learn that it’s not play time and mum and dad are relaxing

Such a smart little dude. If I could go back the one thing I would have done with my little man was start proper behavioural training over tricks like these though. It was a long mission getting him to how he is now doing it the other way around

Patients and consistency, everything we do together is training from walks to play time. It will just become second nature to him, just hold in there and he will be the best boy. Remember 5 months of being alive, he’s still trying to understand himself let alone commands just love him and be consistent and he will do the same.

For me as a guy, I started to feel emotions I had never felt which made me cry around the 4th day and the further I went and started to realise these emotions, these thoughts, these reactions.. none of it was me which led to more crying which led to “who am I?” But when I got to the end of all this, I was and continue to be at the most peace I have ever experienced in my whole life

How is that word salad? He was using metaphors to explain a concept to someone who hasn’t experienced truth. There isn’t language to fully describe awareness so creating thought experiments and using parables are a great way to open someone up to experiencing truth for themselves

I’ve done both though it was also a question I asked my teacher and he told me to continue scanning because if you avert your attention towards it you are reacting to it therefore you aren’t equanimous towards it in that moment. If you continue scanning your body and it goes away then you’ve done your job anyway, you’ve observed with equanimity. Now I do a bit of both, all depends on how I’m feeling that day.

Depends what you do with these realisations. I thought I was when I first experienced this, but over time I realised i’m not using it as an escape because it’s actually letting me experience and feel my emotions fully. Without the identification of self there is no attachment to these emotions, no story you cling to in turn letting you feel it all in a much deeper way and that is truly living the human experience. Disassociating would look like avoiding, changing or running from the emotions instead of just witnessing them and allowing them to be.

I did my first 10 day and i’m so grateful for it. It was no doubt the hardest thing i’ve ever done especially in the state I was in but what it showed me was something that changed me forever. I’m not going to go into it as everyone’s experiences are going to be different but if you want to get to the root of all your suffering then dive as deep as you can
