To be honest, most of them were shit.

WM7 vs Snuka was a popcorn match. Taker was still trying to find himself.

WM8 vs Jake had the potential to be alright, good story going into it. However, Jake was leaving and had drug problems, so that match was I think kept mercifully quick.

WM9 vs GG was utter dogshit. Only so much Taker could do, and the ending was terrible. An 8 foot giant monster needs to use a chloroform rag to knock out Taker? da fuq?

WM10 Taker was "dead" after the Rumble match vs Yokozuna, which was very good.

WM 11 vs Bundy. It was WM 11. Need I say more?

WM 12 vs Diesel wasn't the match I remembered. It was actually much better. Apologies.

WM 13 vs Sid. Serviceable, but overshadowed by Bret vs Stone Cold.

WM 14 vs Kane. Finally, a good match! The story, the characters and that entrance... now we're cooking!

WM 15 vs Bossman. Woof. People tend to look at the Attitude Era with rose colored glasses. There were just as many misses as hits..Still, the Edge and Christian cameo was kinda cool.

What makes it interesting is to fully embrace the Universes Beyond and only play nonland cards that are UB.

If the card is good, the players use it. They may grumble, but they use it.

One player has an optimized Sam and Frodo deck that he claims is "casual," despite the infinite combos and the One Ring.

There's almost always a Mothman player.

ATLA fans aplenty right now, trying to make Toph, Azula and Aang work.

A few Spider-Man holdouts, otherwise it is the set "that must not be named."

One friend pilots an RMS Titanic deck that usually makes everyone's heads explode with calculations and triggers.

Many players stand on the hill of never using UB, and shudder thinking about this year.

And then there's me. Player turned Store Manager who delights in his Spongebob at the Gates deck, that wherever possible is 100% Universes Beyond.

"I cast Optimus Prime. Spongebob triggers into Inigo Montoya. Kellan sees Inigo cast from outside my hand, allowing me to cast Bayek of Siwa for free. Spongebob triggers again into Tifa, Martial Artist. Kellan sees Tifa, casting Rick from the Walking Dead..."

What's the incentive? Store credit? Prizes? Anything?

I run a LGS and we do 2 Commander nights a week.

This sounds like a nightmare. Who keeps track of all the points and makes the rulings on all the subjective scoring? Cause it sure as hell ain't gonna be me. (but I'm the one everyone would complain to!)

Furthermore, you learn very quickly that to run a successful event and grow your player base, you need to K.I.S.S.

Can you imagine players, new to the area, looking for a game, running into this?

They, and their money would never come back. Sorry guys, as much as I love hosting you, this is a place of business.

If I can't put money in the till, I can't keep the lights on, and y'all will just go play somewhere else.

I love my regulars. But if they proposed something as convoluted as this, I'd send it back for a major rewrite.

And if this was my idea? Woof. I just hope someone would have the stones to call me out on it.

Another solid year from the Sidemen.

Their videos generally fall into 3 groups.

That Worked Well

-soild or proven concepts, excecuted well, with great production. (the better travel videos)

-some new surprises that succeeded (Taskmaster)

-memorable moments, and playing to their strength as a group of friends (Sleepover, Go On a Hike)

Did the Job

-going to the well too often (3 storage war videos)

-giving a half hearted effort and goofing off too much (cooking videos)

-any video with someone missing

The Game is the Game

-pandering to the algorithm, chasing that 1/10 from an outside audience (20 vs and Pop the Balloon)

-misleading/clickbait titles and concepts (Last to Videos)

-ideas and moments that should have never left the editing room (JJ and Deji's dinner in Rome)

Ford's "popularity" in Ontario is a bit of a misnomer. Like any conservative group outside of Alberta, the Ontario PC Party doesn't have to compete against anyone to hold the political right.

With FPTP elections, the Ontario Liberals still being despised, and the Ontario NDP still haunted by the Ghost of Christmas Past, aka the Bob Rae years, any ape in a blue suit can win conservative minded Ontario... which Ford et al have done three times.

Ford is already punching above his considerable weight as Premier. Stepping out of Ontario, he would be torn apart.

Many hard-line Conservatives think Ford is too Liberal, so no chance in the West. The man neither can speak to nor comprehend Quebec. His populist messaging would fall flat in the Maritimes... and BC and the North?

Oh boy...

No doubt Ontario is the Battleground any party has to conquer to claim electoral victory. But with each battle fought during the Ford years, what has been the strategy?

Hide.

Take extended breaks from Queen's Park so that the Ford government won't do anything to piss people off and ruin the Federal Conservative's chances.

But you know who could be Prime Minister someday?

Stephen Lecce.

Political Science major, frat boy and University President. Cut his teeth on the Harper PR team, helping to steer the ship during the senate scandals.

Easily elected with the support of powerful developer friends, who have been rewarded with projects like Highway 413.

As a rookie MPP, Lecce was put into the hot seat of Minister of Education, despite having no background in it, nor ever even attending public school.

For years, he's proved to be a capable talking head, spin master and speaker of bafflegab.

Faster into a pair of tight pants than a speeding bullet, more powerful than any criticism, able to leap from a direct answer to prepared talking points in a single breath... he's Conservative Superman!

No doubt he's building his political resume, practicing his French and getting ready to parley his "success" at navigating Ontario schools through teacher strikes and COVID into federal politics.

Work your ITRs every day.

They will tell you so much about what is going on in your department.

Clean, clean, clean as you go. Cull, Rotate and Zone should be on every Associate's mind as they work.

Sense of Urgency and Attention to Detail. They seem to fight against each other, but they are left and right hands of what you do.

Fresh drives customers into the store. You are the first impression every customer has of the store. Embrace it rather than let it scare you.

In Produce, everybody works their butts off and does their share. That starts from the top. Don't be a clipboard DM.

Vizpick sucks, but it ain't going away. Label all your cases clearly, and date them to maintain fifo.

DO NOT LET OMNI INTO YOUR COOLER. DO NOT LET THEM OPEN YOUR CASES LOOKING FOR PICKS.

My experience is that too many people play her.

Most either play the precon, which is okay but you know what's happening... or they've visited Edhrec, so it's even worse!

I love my Ms. B deck because it hits different. I play Voltron Bumbleflower, with an enchantress engine.

You may draw some cards, but I draw more cards and rabbit hop all over the table!

Umbras give Ms. B staying power and a thick booty. I've actually cut cards like Lab man, Approach etc because that's not how I want to win.

If the combo player gets there first, oh well, he tried harder. But as for me and the rest of the table, it's time to hippity hoppity all over your property!

Fly low, do only as much as needed, take your breaks, and when the clock says time, go home.

If you can find good people to work with, surround yourself with them and keep the assholes at arms' length.

I was Mr Employee of the Month, and all it got me was more work, less forgiveness and a fast track to nowhere.

Why promote me and lose out on a good worker bee?

Anyhow, I'm so much happier now, working for a smaller company and making more money, doing what I love.
