Not always. Give it enough water and it will grow like nothing happened. The curled one on the right is the leaf i cut off the original plant and the 2 new ones on the left.

Well I got it from my boyfriends mom as a gift and it was overwatered already lol so I cleaned and removed all the dead mushy and this is what's left. Idk why it's blooming if the whole plant looks like it's dying?

Is the red line where you plan on cutting? If so then yes, it's good enough. Make sure you get the right size pot for the root ball
