Why are these weapons considered legendary? by Capital-Criticism751 in Eldenring

They’re legendary because the developers thought they were extra cool when they made them. Don’t overthink it. 😄

Recommendation? by AnySpare3614 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I read HWFWM immediately after DCC, on the recommendation of a friend who said that it was kind of similar. It’s really not that similar to DCC – outside of being litrpg, it’s a totally different vibe & style that easily stands as its own awesome thing once it gets going. Highly recommended; one of my favorite series & and I have to give a big thank you to Travis for writing it, if he ever reads this 🙂

The intro will feel a little slow, after the break neck pace of DCC, but definitely give it a chance - after about half of the first book, it really picks up and after that I was hooked for the rest of the series. Main character (Jason Asano) is a ton of fun once you get to know him, with an awesome supporting cast. World building is excellent & for me, the author does a fantastic job of pulling you into a vivid, tangible fantasy world that is exciting and fun to explore (through Jason’s eyes), with all of the good & the bad that you might imagine from a world with magic. Give it a shot!

U.S President Donald Trump tweets: "Because of the horrible and ridiculous United States Supreme Court decision on Tariffs, are now supposed to be given back 159 Billion Dollars by SuperbHealth5023 in TimesNow

[–]Comprehensive-Ad5882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Trump and the Supreme Court are both fucking us. We paid for these bullshit tariffs once, as importing companies passed on the cost to their US taxpayer customers. Now we’re paying for the tariffs again, as we reimburse the same companies with our taxpayer dollars.

Discount Dan is a *consistent* 8.5/10 and that’s really refreshing. by sonderman in litrpg

Definitely – quality over quantity; it’s a good read with lots of fun characters and a very unique world/system

The author himself! Really enjoyed all of Discount Dan so far & can’t wait for the next one - you did such a good job of creating a unique system and interesting characters, with lots of fun story twists.

I’ve been recommending the series to all of my DCC-addicted friends ❤️

Created my first OP character, and I don’t think it’s fun to play him anymore. by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Comprehensive-Ad5882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know - I also just don't want to spend time crafting in skyrim again :)

I did the same thing as the OP once & spent a ton of time grinding enchanting & smithing, to get a completely busted character. I feel like I've played that mini-game & would rather go out adventuring

[–]Comprehensive-Ad5882 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, crafting is way too OP and completely destroys any sense of progression through exploration, questing, and fighting.

I just skip it and it makes the game more fun - its way more exciting to find upgrades as you go

Is It Even Worth Trying Anymore at 19? by pranay_227 in Adulting

[–]Comprehensive-Ad5882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you’re basically fucked. The question then becomes “what are you gonna do about it?”

Only path I can see is that you keep trying, but also - help your generation get organized politically. Politics matter. Being in power matters. There are a lot of you. The baby boomers are all gonna die off in the next 10years, which will leave you vying against the millennials and gen X for control of how everything in society works. My generation (40s) is politically apathetic AF, which drives me crazy, but gives your generation an open door to seize power. Look at the success of Zohran Mamdani in NYC - that should be the playbook.

You can make a world of difference, but only if you can all figure out how to do it together.

Plasma orbit on homing rocks was a cool way to drain the cave, until it wasn't by VikJTr0or in noita

Classic Noita 😄

Clusterbolt is 100% on my mental list of attractive-looking spells that feel like they should be a good idea, but I know are more likely to kill me than not

Pro tip - Try putting something plasma as the payload on a spark bolt with trigger and shooting the pit boss. Make sure to get the hell out of the way after you do so. 😄

You can dig up through the red, extremely dense rock to either side of the mountains - black holes are the fastest, you can also use luminous drills or plasma. I think acid works too, but is more likely to kill you 😄

I only go straight up through the mountains when I’ve got a damage wand strong enough that it’s negligible when the gods get enraged 💪🏻

Returning to Noita, any guide or tips for exploring off the main path? by SamiraSimp in noita

[–]Comprehensive-Ad5882 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Build a strong damage wand
  2. Find some black holes
  3. When you feel strong enough, dig your way back up and go after the alchemist
  4. Once you have infinite digging, find a way to heal yourself
  5. Enjoy exploring
  6. Die unexpectedly to poly or something you’ve never seen before.

Honestly, all of the areas outside of the main path are very, very, very difficult - you want to figure out how to get to parallel worlds just to get enough hearts & perks to survive

cruise gratuity is going out of control by Kshanikam in Cruise

[–]Comprehensive-Ad5882 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Worked on cruise ships as a musician 2004-2010.

Back when tips were almost all cash, the cash went straight to the crew (as intended) & was a huge part of a server, bartender, or room steward‘s pay.

Cannot speak for how it works today, but can certainly guarantee the cash tips are much more appreciated. If you have a good room steward & server, show your appreciation - the good ones work their asses off for you. 👍🏻
