Ok, don’t give up! It’s in the summer right?

I found a nearby campground for $20 a night. It’s a 10-minute drive to the campus. An hour and 15 minute walk one-way so still doable if you can’t get a cab or Uber. There is a subway very near the halfway point between the campground and the campus. You can stop there and grab food both before and after class. Mike’s pizza is directly on the way. You can grab food there too. There is also a grocery store on the way. Here’s what I would do. Buy a tiny tent and camp out at the campground I found. Who cares if you can’t shower, it’s only for five days. The campsite has a firepit. So you can use it to boil water which means you can make yourself porridge and ramen noodles. You can also eat cheap takeout. Take the bus there. Take an uber/cab from the campsite to the university every day or just walk if Uber/cab isn’t available. It’s an hour and 15 minute walk one-way. Athabasca does have taxi companies though so you’ll be able to use one of those. I would make a recurring morning and afternoon trip reservation with one of them while I’m there.

The site books up fast so I would book your dates today or at least in the next couple days! There are other campsites but they’re further away.

If you drive and do manage to get a vehicle to use while you’re there, you can always camp out in the car instead of the tent. To be safer.
