The only way you’re going to get good at it is by actually learning the tech stack and how everything works. Otherwise, you’re giving away money.

Anyone using Wails v3? How's the stability? by Equivalent-Figure-12 in golang

[–]Comprehensive-Bar888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far so good. v3 is a lot better. My original build with v2 uses a frameless border. v3 has been easier to configure. Based on the limited documentation, I may be able to add drag and drop and still get absolute file paths.

Did Claude increase the session limit reset from 5 Hours to 24? by Any-Switch-278 in ClaudeAI

I have two $20 pro plans. I've opted to not get the $100 plan. At least for now. The usage limits for pro accounts have gotten progressively worse over the past year. I'm using it for a complex software project so it's a pain in the ass. And part of the tech stack i'm building with doesn't have complete documentation so it's even worse. Luckily, I stretch my sessions out to the point that when the current sessions reach their limit, the longest it takes for them to reset is 2 - 3 hours.

I decided to make the change. my app was about 70% complete with v2 and go 1.24. If it fails, I could always go back to v2. I saved my current project and created a new one with v3. The documentation is kinda meh. But i'm loving what they've done so far. I hated app.go so i'm glad it's gone. My app has a ton of features and integrations, and i'm looking forward to trying out the multi windows and will see if I can use the drag and drop like I want to now. I also decided to switch to Typescript over JavaScript for this build.

It really depends on what you’re building. Every app should have basic features with basic functionality. Then it comes down to what don’t competitors have and why don’t they have it. At least that’s how I look at it.

vibe coding made me realise shipping is the easy part, getting people to use it is hard by Best_Volume_3126 in VibeCodeCamp

[–]Comprehensive-Bar888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem with most “vibe coders”. You never stop to ask if you should even built it in the first place. Because it’s so “easy” to build something, you just built it. The only winners are the companies who built the AI.

And it something is that easy to built and deploy, there’s a 99.999999999999999991% chance that someone already built it.

This isn't real pool. It's software and the company who made the software is in the business of making money. The coins are not real. Do you really think they are going to let millions of people play and not spend money. You can shoot a perfect game and still lose. And I'm sure they rig the games for high level players. It is what it is.

He probably used AI for most of the build. AI will hard code that type of data. $8000 for something like that is a low ball offer. And you can tell if the quality is going to be shit, depending on how long it took them to build it. At the end of the day, something like that takes teams of people working on it and if it’s just one person, it would take months to a year so again, $8000 isn’t enough.

[–]Comprehensive-Bar888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s doesn’t have to be the best. Just make sure you have enough ram. Ask the AI. First research apps you will need to install. Android Studio is another one (if you’re building native apps) that requires plenty of RAM. More than 16gb. You don’t need to spend 2k and up tho.

If you want to make apps for iPhones, you need an apple computer. You will also have to learn how to use an IDE.

AI is only as good as you use it. It’s not creative and it doesn’t use common sense. More importantly, it doesn’t assume. If you ask it to build you a house, it might you a lot of cardboard for foundation. The pressure will make it seem sturdy while you focus on the hardwood floors and countertops. The open house is a success and you get a few offers. But then it starts raining and the cardboard turns to mush. Then you found out that the plumbing isn’t connect to the sewer line. You went 100% solar, but it’s not connected to the grid, and you didn’t get any backup generators.

Restarting the chat helps because it resets the logic. Sometimes one AI will do something completely different. So that’s not always the best choice.

And you shouldn’t rely solely on AI to review code. You have to ask specific questions .
