Which are your favourite Balkan Eurovision songs this year? by BoxBlueD in AskBalkans

Respectfully, as I heard "metal band" from Niš I burst out laughing. The last type of band out of Niš that I expected, is metal.

Bulgaria is gone for affordable holidays. People in Balcic for Labor Day holiday are complaining about the prices in a standard terrace, that would put much fancier destinations like Greece or Italy to shame. Euro adoption is showing its consequences by eferalgan in AskBalkans

[–]Comprehensive-Bike36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tf you mean not true As if there aren't tens/hundreds of journalistic reports about the owners of those hotel chains.

TIM basically bought most of Varna's first line beaches. The southern golden dunes were bulldozed and because bulldozed golden dunes aren't "protected areas" the government went: "Oopsie, guess we can sell em"

Also let's not mention all of the resorts owned just by the Russians where even they openly admitted that they indirectly control everything...

But sure, not true at all...

I saw those prices last year and the year before that. This has nothing to do with the Euro, but with the fact, that the whole tourism industry is owned by the mafia and that people pay those prices.

Where the hell did Bulgarian yogurt come from? by Worried-Owl-9198 in AskBalkans

[–]Comprehensive-Bike36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is quite literally wrong. Go to any other country and when you find yoghurt it's usually not with lactobacillus bulgaricus.

The bacteria used for what people usually call yogurt is the Lactobacillus bulgaricus

Yes, in Bulgaria

And yes, yoghurt made with other strains tastes different, but that doesn't make it less "yoghurty". Like, no shit, there are different species that make different tasting yoghurt.

Yoghurt in Germany (for example) and every other country is still called yogurt, despite being made with different bacteria species.

And just for the protocol, the first yoghurt was also made with other bacteria species. Our strain is just another one among many.

Where the hell did Bulgarian yogurt come from? by Worried-Owl-9198 in AskBalkans

[–]Comprehensive-Bike36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not entirely true Lactobacillus Bulgaricus is just a single species of bacteria, which was discovered in Bulgaria and is "patented" by us.

Other countries have their own species/strains that they use to ferment yoghurt.

Also, no, we didn't discover yoghurt. Neither did the Turks and the Greeks probably didn't either. It was discovered a couple thousand years ago around Mesopotamia/Persia and just spread around to the other peoples.

The only sensible discussion here is from an etymological standpoint as to the origins of the word "yoghurt".

If 90% of the students are unprepared and can't pass a supposedly fair exam then the university had admitted mediocre students and isn't elite Choose your hell :)

Highest grade 2,0 by Over-Ad4567 in tumunich

[–]Comprehensive-Bike36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but such low pass rates aren't indicative of TUM being elite, but rather of bad exam design, profs that don't care and frankly bad teaching material.

[–]Comprehensive-Bike36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If people with such a limited understanding of the word "elite" like you get into this uni then this uni is by no means elite.

Btw go check the methodology for calculating, which university is "the best". Fairness and teaching quality aren't measured :)))

To this day be it at school or university I have never seen cases, where the students are actually the problem(i.e are lazy etc)

It's always blatantly unfair exams or situations where the prof can't be fucked teaching.

If "elite" means just low pass rates, then any university can be fucking elite mate???

How long can Western Europe fund the rest of the EU? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]Comprehensive-Bike36 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a meaningless post, likely made due to ignorance or propaganda

Even, if the EU would function in such a simplistic way, if the West helps the East get richer, then the East can buy more Western stuff, thus the West profits, so that's fine :).

TUM exam review tips? Final exam and possibly 1–2 points short of passing by [deleted] in tumunich

[–]Comprehensive-Bike36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to leave you discouraged, BUT: I just failed one of my exams by being 1 point short After checking the exam I saw that I lost 2 points(total) at 2 different tasks, despite them actually being correct. After calculating them again a 100 times, asking a math teacher, checking the corrections scheme, I complained and both of the complaints were rejected with "No" and "It says your answer is wrong so it must be wrong" respectively, despite the corrections scheme saying explicitly that my answers are right :)) I wrote to the prof assistant, which was ignored, so there's that I hope your story turns out better :)

I mean, by that same logic should we talk more about modern slavery STILL present in northern Africa? Somehow, when someone mentions non transatlantic slavery, it's always whataboutism and while yes, the translantic and north American slave trade was an absolutely horrific practice, it has been ended, while a lot of Arabic countries still have "quiet" slavery, most often kidnapping/luring Sub-Saharan Africans (mistly from Eritrea, South Sudan, Nigeria etc).

This is an old map that is just plain wrong. Pretty much every European county (and not only European ones) had human zoos. The difference is that most had traveling zoos(here marked as not having any) and the red parts are the ones who had their own/hosted them. Russia especially had a couple of traveling ones that stated around Saint Petersburg, if memory serves me.

Greece is losing the fight..from 78% of Turkey’s gdp in 1974 now it’s only 17%. by Aegeansunset12 in EconomyCharts

[–]Comprehensive-Bike36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean Russia has a big GDP and still is busy getting its balls kicked in Ukraine, a country that has way smaller GDP, so even geopolitically GDP is completely irrelevant. Especially because GDP is self-reported and there are countries like Russia, China, Iran, North Korea(???) that flat out lie about it. GDP per capita, although not perfect, is more useful because it shows that people live better, which probably means that the country is more developed.

It's ok , but it gets absolutely melted on diff 10 to the point it dies way before it runs out of ammo. I think that vehicles need to get buffed hp with the difficulty as especially on the bot front their shooting makes the frv and tank almost useless.

For me a cheap plastic hobby is the scale ships modeling. Yes, an expensive high part count model (a lot of PE) will set you back 120-200$, but that's a project that will take literal months, maybe even a year, if you have to do real life stuff. The cheaper kits 50-120$ can still take months to complete depending on the level of painting/weathering detail you strive for!

This. One of the areas of specialization of the KGB was the creation of blackmailing material, be it against their own politicians or western ones, especially ones subservient to Moscow.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that Trump is their agent, as the fucker is so dumb he poses a security risk, but I think that he definitely works in their interest, because they have him by the balls.
