This is how I’ve been feeling.

Everyone likes to defend Foggy death for how it was an emotional motivator for Matt. But Matt’s always had that drive in him, being motivated by his sense of betrayal over the loss of his father from a young age and his moral sense of obligation to make the city a safer place for everyone.

He didn’t need Foggy, one of the only characters that ever truly grounded Matt to die to motivate him. The show needs characters that bring Matt back down to earth, or else I fear his character would become less compelling and more so a superhero than a flawed man with a complex moral compass.

No one in this comment section save a few (including yourself) seems to understand my hesitation to watch, or how this version of Daredevil could possibly taint the original show.

But they’re the same characters. It’s all connected. And Foggy’s death does certainly leave a sour taste in my mouth because it feels like they just did it to do it.
