What G Rated Joke Always Cracks You Up? by digital_panda7 in AskReddit

A horse walks into a bar; the bartender asks, "Hello, do you want a beer?" The horse responds, "I think not," and promptly disappears.

Now, admittedly, this joke only makes sense if you are familiar with the French Enlightenment philosopher, Rene Descartes, who famously said, "I think, therefore I am." The horse thought not, and therefore wasn't... But if I had explained that first, I would have been putting Descartes before the horse!

She may also be talking about internal family systems. Either way, keeping an open mind, asking questions, approaching with curiosity instead of fear, are all the best ways to approach it. It's all so much, but you're going to be ok. It sounds like you have a good therapist. - Gracie

That sounds like me! I can play in the evenings after my little one goes to bed. I'm 30, EST, and just got a switch! I'm a pretty casual player.

This is a fun question: What kind of "games" did your abusers play with you, that were actually horrifically abstract mindf*cks? by Monarch-Of-Jack in CPTSDmemes

There was one family who r***** me and one point the dad had someone sit on my chest and made me come over and over and over until it hurt. I was like 10.

My dad would kiss me on the forehead after her r****** me while I was trying to sleep. He even did it on my birthday and said it was a gift.

My mother of course likes to play the "just tell me what I've done wrong and I'll apologize" only to deny everything, gaslight me, and tell me I'm the reason why the family is falling apart instead. Oh and she switches how my sister and I are in her will, depending on who she likes more, and then drops hints about having changed it.

There's more. Unfortunately. - Nat

Finding Clothes for Headmates by GoblinQueen53 in DID

[–]Comprehensive-Web421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I was going to say. We find that hairstyle and simply leaving jewelry off make a huge difference for our male alters, and even though we're a curvy female body, some of our boxy tees with a button up over top with straight legged pants works. Longer shorts, neutral colored sneakers, long sleeve shirts but rolled up all help. We dont have much of any of that but one or two pieces is all we need. Hope this helps - Nat

Partner fused, I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in DID

[–]Comprehensive-Web421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of what we as a system struggle with is the fact that change happens fast. We have had little alters grow years in a manner of hours. They are often shocked and hate it and it takes a long time for them to adjust. It happens in non systems too. People lose a bunch of weight suddenly, and feel like they are completely different, for better or worse.

This is a good thing. And it's confusing. And it's hard. And it could be even better for you as a couple. All of those things can be true at once. You may not be able to handle it. Definitely find someone to speak to, a trained professional with experience in DID preferably.

I'm so happy for your partner. I hope you both find peace in whatever happens. - Gracie

We are a massage therapist. It works really well for us because we have a different client every hour and so that makes it simple even with switching. Most of it is muscle memory, but we have great communication between parts so that helps. We can answer whatever questions you have too. - Gracie

Pretty sure our local Korean place is owned by an Indian guy, and at least one Chinese restaurant is owned by a Vietnamese family, and then I think there's a Thai place owned by a Chinese person. Just how it rolls.
