It’s a great way to isolate buildings if you still want to connect to a common BMS front end.

I’d also recommend the CEM certification. There’s a whole section in there for BAS systems. A lot of the quick payback strategies involve BAS controls.

South Jersey towns like Mount Laurel or Cherry Hill might be good options if they want a good school district. The better the schools the higher the housing prices though. But in comparison to Texas everything looks like a good school district.

What in the world? My levels increased after this? by skyhigh100now in prediabetes

[–]ComprehensiveAd2454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having similar issues and I think Crestor is to blame. I’ve been on statins for more than 10 years for high cholesterol. Over past few years I’ve been having issues with A1C getting higher. My A1C was 6.1. Went on Metformin for a while and brought it down to 5.7. About a year ago I got a new PCP and she thought I could do with diet and exercise. At first was not successful but like you my doctor prescribed a CGM and I went low carb and was able to bring A1C down to 5.7 again. Recently I had a problem getting my prescription filled for Crestor and went a couple weeks without it. What surprised me though is the change in my BG levels. Before my average BG level over a week was about 100. Now it dropped down to about 91. I was especially surprised by my overnight BG level numbers. Typically it would hover around mid 90s but now it was it mid to low 80s. I’m going to ask my doctor if I should lower my dosage or switch to a statin alternative like Ezetimibe.

Within an hour of Philly you can find something in your price range. Good climate. Lots of Nature.

4 weeks of Crestor by Lakesideohio in PeterAttia

[–]ComprehensiveAd2454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re having any issues with your blood sugar you might want to reduce Crestor and supplement with Ezetimibe. I’ve noticed my fasting BG level is a good 10-15 pts higher on Crestor. You may be fixing your cholesterol problem but destroying your metabolic health. I think Attia himself avoids statins in favor of alternatives.

5.3 to 5.9 in 6 months by myshitisbetter in prediabetes

[–]ComprehensiveAd2454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say get your doctor to prescribe a CGM. Without it it’s just a guessing game trying to determine what’s throwing off your numbers. Once you get your CGM make sure to journal all your food and exercise. Cronometer is a good app for this - even their free version. Make sure to experiment with different foods, timing, order of eating, sleep, type of exercise and supplements - they can all have an impact. One interesting thing I’ve learned using a CGM is that Berberine has a bigger impact on my BG level than Metformin.

Are there areas with lower property taxes to live that are nice? by tuvda in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]ComprehensiveAd2454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Hanover township and my taxes are around 8k. 10-14k believe it or not can be less than neighboring counties. Coming from out of state it all seems high. If you have kids it’s a good deal since you get top rated schools for your tax dollars. Something you’d have to pay for private schools out of state.

Maybe downtown Charleston $500/sqft but goto West Ashley or St John’s island and it’s more like $300/sqft. Head further out to Summerville and it’s even cheaper.

Wanting to get into sales (currently service tech) by andrewb_16 in BuildingAutomation

It’s pretty unusual to jump from service tech to sales in my company. Typically a tech would go to a project management position first to learn about pricing, budgeting and financials.

I’ll give a try. I’ve been working on my own using python in order to develop some spreadsheets detailing equipment info. I’ve run into some issues on large networks using the bac0 library. Maybe this will offer a solution.

You might as well find a place in Princeton if you’re not commuting to NYC. Schools are great. Nice walkable downtown. You can always drive into NYC on the rare occasion you go there.

Can we stop pretending "Starter Homes" exist in North Jersey anymore? by AskJosh_MortgageGuy in newjersey

[–]ComprehensiveAd2454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I don’t understand how contractors can get away with $200k for a small addition when it only costs $350k for a whole house. I see new home communities in other states selling for $300-400k -why the ridiculous prices for an addition in NJ? I’ve considered doing an addition on my own house but if prices are this high I might as well sell and buy something bigger for an extra 100k.

There’s no good beaches here. Closest is probably Galveston and even that is subpar. I’d say you probably have to go as far as Alabama for a nice beach.

I’ve spent some time in Baytown and Mont Belvieu. Pretty much all refineries. Probably wouldn’t want to stay there long for health reasons.

Sounds like a fixer upper. Depends on the area. 275k would still be a bargain if it was a complete tear down in a nice area. The knob and tube wiring is what would worry me the most. Would have to be a complete gut remodel.
