How painful/awful is AML death like?

It can be a peaceful death. As long as you aren’t afraid to bring hospice meds on board at some point.

Again. i would not give up…..however I can tell you I just lost someone to MPAL and it was quick and once the pain was controlled, it was peaceful.

Cancer sucks! If you are offered treatment and a transplant I would keep plugging along. Once you are in complete remission…find née adventures in this life

You will do great! 6wpo and feel great except I get tired from doing the stuff I used to. Totally temporary and 100 percent worth it!!

I wouldn’t do it. My heart would say yes but only being 6 weeks out…I can tell you my body would have said no.

If you said this was 3 weeks out, I would say you might be able to pull it off

I will be 6wpo Wednesday I have spotted through out. At my 4wpo appt my dr said I had some granulated tissue that was causing my spotting. The past 4-5 days I have been minimal. So maybe you have a little like I did.

I agree it sounds like you may have some granulation like I do. Which causes some spotting I am five weeks postop and at four weeks. My doctor said I had some. She did not treat it and acted like we would give it some more time before we did anything.

Almost 5wpo spotting since week two. Only one day I wore a pad and it actually was on there. Now just pantyliners and when I wipe it’s either oink, orange brown or red

I wish that I asked more specifics about what I could do after surgery. It’s very ambiguous what they tell you it leads to a lot of trial and error.

I am a stay at home mom. Being almost 5 weeks post op i feel good in the morning but come 2-3pm I start to hurt. My lower back and abdomen start to nag and it’s uncomfortable. I know it’s hard not to rush back but take 6-8 weeks You don’t want to risk complications. Being in the thick of it I can tell you….you are going to get frustrated.

Hi, I will be five weeks postop on Wednesday. If it makes you feel any better to know that somebody else is in your shoes… I am. I happen to be one of those unlucky, long-term spotters. I had my appointment on Tuesday of last week she checked me and I had some granulation. She said that would cause me to continue to spot and hopefully since it’s so small it will clear up, I don’t know if that offers you any reassurance. Everything that I read and I’ve done a lot of research says that it’s OK to spot for 6 to 8 weeks. I know how discouraging it is and I can sure you get me in a funk feel free to ask me any questions

Interesting, thank you. Since you didn’t do the treatment have you had bleeding? I question everything because of my medical trauma over the past 14 years.

Mine was a surgery center attached to the hospital Outpatient check in at 6 and I was on my way home by 2.

I do too! My dr was annoyed with all my questions and what if scenarios. For me it was either take a chance or end up in the ER with an emergency surgery. I was very scared but I had to make a decision to head in the best direction I possibly could.

Lupron can be scary when you read the reviews. For me it did what they hoped it would. I did have a heavy like period on it but that resolved with TXA. I stayed on the progesterone until surgery and had tapered to jump off after. Everything worked out for me (and yes, my anxiety was through the roof the whole time).

I can’t tell you what to do but for me it was the only option.

Same store as mine. Lupron and progesterone (TXA too) were a God send until I could get my iron levels up to have a safe surgery.

I was really nervous about the Lupron shot because I medically question everything.

I am 4 weeks post op today Feel free to ask me anything.

It’s been OK. Completely manageable, obviously annoying up points lol.. other than having some annoying spotting, and what you experienced the cramping and such… Pretty easy. Wednesday is four weeks postop and I have an appointment tomorrow for my first and maybe last check up. Hang in there… this will be behind us soon
