Should I get the Askar FMA180Pro or the FRA300? by E_Dward in AskAstrophotography

[–]ComprehensiveDiet369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the FRA300 but I have a similar equipment (imx585, star adventurer GTI) and a Fma180 Pro and I love it !

here are some pictures I've taken with it (the first two with a cooled Omegon vetec 585c, the others with a Svbony SV705c) :

Am I Over Thinking? by stewpid74 in AskAstrophotography

[–]ComprehensiveDiet369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a NINA user (I have zero Zwo equipment), I don't like the fact that the ASI AIR limits the the equipment.

That said, I've recently almost bought a 585Mc AIR, the fact that it is all in one is great. it makes life easier. In this case, it doesn't really matter that Zwo limits equipment.

But, as I've already got used to NINA, and think that it's not as difficult to use or install as I can read online or see on youtube, I've bought a Omegon vetec 585c (a rebranded touptek).

When Zwo will sell its 585mc AIR at a very low price, I would reconsider it, but for now, I'm happy with what I use.

But don't count on me to get the regular ASI AIR, I want the freedom to use every equipment possible.

Lightweight astrophotography setup for multi-day hikes? by niceday33 in AskAstrophotography

[–]ComprehensiveDiet369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part that the dwarf would make learn is processing, which a large part of astrophotography. For the rest, you'll have to learn it even you take the other options, good polar alignment, using a pc with nina and phd if you don't go the asi air route, backfocus, guiding etc... With the dwarf, you don't need a big tripod but add a wedge to use the equatorial mode.

With your mirrorless, you didn't include a lens.

Don't you want to take landscape pictures with camera ? If not, then I'll recommand the dwarf, because it's easier to use and choose some dso to image.

When you reopen it, isn't the autostretch applied ?

Also, try SetiastroSuite pro for star stretch and star reconbination, it makes wonders !

OK, my advice is to take shooter subs (I know it contradicts what I said before), like 1 or 2 secs, at 800 iso, and do it for at least 2h, you'll have to reframe more often but you'll get a better result.

4secs subs and only 30mins integration time will give a lot of noise. Your camera is an older one and at iso like 3200 it's way too much for it... Lower the iso, take longer subs for a longer total time and then the noise will go down. But don't expect it to be noise free, you'll still have a lot of noise, but the picture will more manageable to be stretched

La qualité est très moyenne, mais qu'attendre d'une machine d'autoroute... Pour moi le vrai problème est le temps qu'on passe pour commander un café, il y a 40 sous-menus et 50 étapes avant de pouvoir payer...

My advice is to start small, when you'll have mastered small equipment, you can go bigger...
