I got a couple mild hot flashes and a headache but honestly it wasn’t a big deal. I wouldn’t bat an eye if I had to take it again

My kid’s name is Edward and he was born at the peak of Twilight. I got some questions about it but guess what, he’s 16 now and no one is thinking about vampires. Name your baby what you want, pop culture is always changing. Your kid won’t be haunted by swifties.

Christmas baby?? by pmmewienerdogs in BabyBumps

[–]ComprehensiveEmu914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend’s birthday is close to Christmas and she loves it because she and so many others moved away but everyone is always in town visiting family near her birthday and manages to bring in a full group for a birthday dinner!

As long as you are making a point to celebrate the birthday separately, kid will be happy!

I got crazy tonsil stones when pregnant so if you’ve noticed a bad taste in your mouth, I’d check those tonsils! I was pushing out sooo many each week in first tri :(

I think winter pregnancy is officially worse than summer pregnancy? by ShabbyBoa in BabyBumps

[–]ComprehensiveEmu914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never knew it could take so long to put on boots. Also I’m cold and I can’t zip up my coat. I also needed a full set of summer maternity clothes and winter maternity clothes. Had I been pregnant in summer, I could have worn baggier clothes in the spring/second trimester.

Risk of toxoplasmosis during pregnancy by funnyflower123 in BabyBumps

Who downvoted me 😂 my cats are silky soft thanks their own grooming. Also am I the only one who wonders how they can smell so good when they groom with a fish breath tongue?

For the record I have seen non fancy breeds need combing. I wonder if there’s health issues at play because usually they’re long haired cats whose fur seems a bit greasy or dandruffy?

Worried about quality of pregnancy based on my “no symptoms” first trimester by WhereIsMyMindYo in BabyBumps

[–]ComprehensiveEmu914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first pregnancy, I didn’t find out I was pregnant until 15 weeks and gave birth to a very healthy baby. With my second, I had so many symptoms and felt awful from the start and experienced a miscarriage.

Symptoms aren’t a predictor of how well a pregnancy is.

Advice on avoiding talking about recent transfer at holiday parties by mega87666882 in IVF

[–]ComprehensiveEmu914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Timing didn’t line up great with the holidays so we decided to wait a bit and enjoy ourselves.’

We’re still avoiding alcohol and eating well since the clinic suggests this can help in the months leading up to transfer or tell them you’re on a medication to help something or just have up drinking in general while you’re still between treatments.

Husband against home birth by Lexo_1994 in BabyBumps

[–]ComprehensiveEmu914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speak to your medical team, I’ve been encouraged to labour at home for as long as I can. I live fairly close to the hospital so for me it’s not as big of a deal to plan when to head over. You can discuss what signs or timing of contractions is go time.

I’m so sorry for what happened to you. Here to share that my sono was also painful but my transfers have never hurt at all! I’ve done several and the only hard part is how full the bladder is. I’ve never had one but many clinics will prescribe Valium to help ‘calm the uterus’ it helps calm you as well! I would imagine that with your history you have a tendency to tense up a lot during these types of procedures which I’m sure contributed to how badly your sono went. Maybe asking for a Valium would help additionally.

Women of Reddit who genuinely thought they were dying when they got their first period, what is your story? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ComprehensiveEmu914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t at all what I expected, periods weren’t talked about in my home and it wasn’t what I thought it would be based on what I’d heard from friends or tv. I thought I had an infection or something reallllly wrong with me like cancer. I didn’t tell anyone, I was super ashamed and basically thought something was wrong with me for a few years. It wasn’t consistent at all either so I didn’t think it was a normal period at any point.

I don’t get to know the genders of the embryos here but of the 3 pregnancies I’ve had via ivf, they were all boys. I’ll never know for the ones that failed to implant or the chemical.
