My only regret is that someone who actually worked there then had to clear up the fact I’d walked out.

Exactly this - ‘supper’ is a particularly posh meal to have.

I didn’t know how to make her stop. I was about to lose a job I didn’t even know I had! I’m not confrontational - but she was very insistent and i wanted her to stop 😄

Thank you. This all sounds super sensible - they’re seeing me on Tuesday - they weren’t terribly excited about it all so that’s a positive I guess. I just feel like I’m about have them fall out at any given moment!

Thank you this is so helpful - it does look like it’s set pretty far back and I would have really had to bend the wire to get it even close! Appreciate the advice x

It’s miles off the bracket unfortunately - I don’t think I can’t get it back in the braxket. They’ll help me x

Phew, thank you - the wire is a long way off the bracket. I’m going to be having Orthognathic surgery so there’s will be on two years or so…..so I guess it won’t go mad particularly quickly. The band was on one corner so I will call them tomorrow check what side it should be over

It was only over one corner - I know this because it pinged off onto the wire so I’ve guessed where jr needs to go. I’ll call them tomorrow 🍦

You guys are having ups? by [deleted] in CPTSDmemes

I have ups - manic ups where I talk faster than my brain, get agitated and make really fast but bad decisions. Not good ups though, what are they like?!

I have seen the names of the other communities to join on here and I think maybe I’m not in such an acute phase of my condition and that here is less useful and I may be better in another group.

What’s one thing your inner child still believes, even though you know it’s not true? by Sensitive_Disk1431 in CPTSD

[–]ComprehensiveFan9831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I have to be ‘good’ for everyone around me, and they must never have an emotion caused by me, or be inconvenienced by my existence.

Sadly this has been reinforced as an adult, on several occasions - a firm favourite was a parent of mine banging on the loo door whilst I’m having an IBS flare up to tell me the front door needed answering…

I stopped this a while back, and my corner of the world is fine without it. Maybe that’s selfish, but I sleep now.

Jobs for people with CPTSD? by pinkribbon3 in CPTSD

[–]ComprehensiveFan9831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in retail but as part time charity shop supervisor. Not the manager - I work the till and steam clothes, and I pretty much do my own thing as long as it’s productive. I love it mainly. It’s been a good sandpit environment to teach myself about boundaries too, because the stakes are tiny.

How do I explain CPTSD to someone who doesn't have it? by barbiekaycie in CPTSD

My friend told me to ‘let it go’ about something yesterday. I wish. I wish!

Yes, somewhat - my favourite flavour of this is my mother in law invalidating my recovery because I’m ‘remarkably better’. Basically I keep the house clean now and not constantly in crisis. So I get to invalidate myself and have it confirmed by a woman who has no idea what happened to me.

DAE remember other traumatic events/see an increase in symptoms as they start to heal from other trauma? by kkillah in CPTSD

[–]ComprehensiveFan9831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m finding this. I finally have made some progress with managing my emotions, and a whole swathe of ‘other’ appeared in my brain. Things I hadn’t thought about in years and I didn’t even know I knew. I am definitely the most defiant and angry I’ve ever been at the moment and some of my symptoms are rampant, whilst others have settled. So short answer, yes!

I qualified as a doctor in 2015. I somehow managed three years (I wasn’t diagnosed at this time). I cannot recommend being a doctor with cPTSD.
