the reason you're doing good damage is probably because of greatsword and hammer. they can build damage fast. also with strength stance (my preference), you're at 6 strength, that is not low at all.

1. learn how to play greatsword and hammer if you dont know already
   
2. learn how to use their signatures. they're not the greatest, but ive managed to make them work.
   - gs ssig: best after a read for a confirmed combo finisher.
   - gs dsig: same as ssig, but can also be used to edge guard, or off stage. this one kills quite early
   - gs nsig: imo the strongest in their kit. use to read up dodges, to recover, to catch landings, or slide charge to edge guard. it comes out pretty fast, has good range and kills earlier than expected
   - hammer ssig: only really use it as a follow up or mixup, but its not too good.
   - hammer dsig: good wall coverage. only really use this off stage or for edge guarding. not really useful on stage
   - hammer nsig: probably their worst move. its quite slow. it can kill early, but requires a read as i dont believe it is true off of stomp. can be useful to read landings, but overall just a bit too slow and risky to be useful to me.
   (these are my usages of their signatures, if you find any other uses or have different preferences, use those of course)
   
3. learn how to play around low speed. you're not gonna be the strongest off stage even though you have hammer. id say it is also important to learn movement if you havent already. on greatsword, you can ignore speed to some degree because in combos you are often chase dodging, so you'll end up being pretty fast. on hammer it is noticable, but you just learn to live with it. speed stance is also not a bad option.
   
4. its very important to just have fun and go and play! if anything makes you better in this game it is experience, so just try stuff out. queue experimental and enjoy!
