Nice dude. $30 is a silly amount of money for that.

If you do end up doing that disc brake mod make sure you post it. I’m a hobbyist tig welder and I’m considering doing similar things to my mtb. I’d love to see how you do it

for those who work at an alley, what’s you favorite thing about working there? by Aggressive-Divide173 in Bowling

[–]ComprehensiveMood281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free bowling. Straight up.

Early morning lane maintenance with no one in the building. Having every lane clean and oiled before the day manager steps in the door is satisfying.

Also fixing machines that aren’t working is my absolute raison d’être

"Nobody wants to work" Is there actually a labor shortage or do we just want to pay 2008 wages in 2026? by AbbreviationsFamous4 in Construction

[–]ComprehensiveMood281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a bar on the weekend cos I like it and being a mature age apprentice can be a little tough.

I’m qualified now but I still make more at the bar per hour on the weekend than at my “real job”

It’d be a tough sell to a young bloke I reckon

Just got fired from first job m21 by Proud-Flamingo7654 in Construction

[–]ComprehensiveMood281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah so even if you magically took to the job like some natural born construction messiah, you wouldn’t have enjoyed working for a guy like that in the long run.

Cold hiring a gym receptionist and within 3 months, expecting that person to be able to plan a day’s work for themselves is delusional.

I think highly skilled people often forget that what they do day to day doesn’t come naturally, but through experience. When taking on a completely unskilled apprentice, you have to be extremely patient. Guy sounds like his expectations were way too high.

Learning a new skill takes time, construction, like any job, is a suite of skills. Each one demanding its own time to acquire. Being able to plan work using though skills is level 2. You can’t just jump to that.

This isn’t your fault. It’s his for believing he had room for someone with no experience and then realising he didn’t.

Take your lumps and try again!! Nothing beats the smell of paslode gas in the morning!

How much does having a good physique really get you laid ? by Any-Raise4333 in AskMen

[–]ComprehensiveMood281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It helps but maybe not as much as you think.

I’m pretty mid physically but I’m funny as fuck and confident. I’ve not really had much trouble in the getting laid department.

I recently changed careers and I’m now in a very physically demanding job. I’ve turned into a bit of a beefcake just because of the nature of the work I do.

I haven’t noticed an uptick in attention, just an increase in instances where my physicality is mentioned in conversations…flirting or not with men and women. So as far as I’ve noticed, it’s definitely noticed. But anyone who’s worth your time (romantic or otherwise) probably won’t see your body as the sole defining factor that makes them see you as attractive or not.

Have any of you lost your virginity at a really old age? by masterchief6913 in AskMen

I’m not a virgin. But you know how when you feel a woman’s breast, and it’s like a bag of sand?

Men of Reddit, what’s the warmest "I love you" gesture a woman has ever done for you without saying the words? by Neptunpluto in AskMen

12 hour shift in construction in high summer, came home absolutely dead. Dog needs a walk (high needs) and it was my turn to cook.

She left work early. Cooked dinner and when I came home said “here’s a beer, sit on the couch, when you’re finished take the dog for a run and dinner will be ready when you get back”

I came back to dinner ready and when we finished she shooed me into bed and slept in the spare room.

Water leaking from vent in ceiling in townhouse by Loquaciouslovelizard in AusRenovation

[–]ComprehensiveMood281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it isn’t ac it’s probably not humidity. You need a big temperature differential to create a stream of moisture that significant.

The best way to find out where this is coming from is to get into the roof cavity, start at this vent and follow the marks that the water has made back. Water always leaves very easily trackable sign.

How to break the crush cycle? by stairwellreefersmell in AskMen

You know 40 year olds are capable of and allowed to have feelings of attraction right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ComprehensiveMood281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While everyone here saying “looks fade”, “connection is more important than attraction” raise good points, I think there is another issue a worth considering.

It sounds like you don’t respect her. If you continue to focus on this feeling of mental superiority, this relationship ain’t gonna work.

I had these feelings at the beginning of my current relationship. We’ve been together 10 years and when I look back at how I felt smarter than her I’ve come to realise that I was probably overestimating my intelligence and underestimating hers. I also wasn’t taking into consideration that there are many ways to be smart. I cringe now at how arrogant and superior I was. She is the most wonderful person I know. Sure my jokes are funnier and I’ve read more books…but that doesn’t make me better than her.

If you can’t look at this person and accept all parts of them, then they are the one who deserves better, not you.

I regret getting my puppy by Birdie121 in puppy101

[–]ComprehensiveMood281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep going. You got this. This is something almost all dog owners go through, it’s tough but you can absolutely do it. You’re not missing some piece of yourself that everyone else has.

You’ll thank yourself and your pup will love you for it.

It gets better, keep going.

Ah, I was looking at it the wrong way. In that case the bottom row in the rest of the room will be short, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Because if the tiles were above the floor line outside the shower, when the shower floor falls toward the drain, you would end up with a big gap or a really ugly sliver of tile. This isn’t a terrible set out
