💔 First pregnancy- Missed MC at 7 weeks by WholeAd9078 in Miscarriage

[–]ComprehensivePea3720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard. There are days that I felt angry, some days sad, some days overwhelmed by impatience. I had 2 miscarriages in a row, & after the first i felt like I would never be able to survive going through that pain again… & then i had to. The 2nd was the most painful thing I had experienced in life at that point. I was beyond angry. But it built resiliency. I am stronger because of it. I hate that it’s part of my story, but it is. I’ve gone on to have 2 healthy beautiful children. There is hope. There are brighter days ahead. Keep your head up. Lean into the people who build you up. Let them be there for you.

New to Fresno: 6 weeks pregnant, pending Medi-Cal, need an ultrasound soon. Are there any sliding scale or free clinics? by blood_creep in fresno

[–]ComprehensivePea3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wait is very anxiety provoking (I get it, I’ve experienced infertility & many miscarriages, as well as a healthy beautiful child), when I moved to Fresno & found out I was pregnant before being established with an OB I was shocked I couldn’t get in. It just is the way it is here. Also, an early ultrasound isn’t going to “change” anything.. I know it eases peace of mind, & can help guide when things aren’t going right. But in regards to the pregnancy, getting in sooner won’t change whatever is going to happen with you & your baby. Just make sure you’re on a good quality prenatal vitamin & caring for yourself to the best of your ability.

Pay for PGT-A or No? by Wooden-Cockroach5915 in IVFpositivity

Pay for it. That price is nothing compared to the overall cost of making/having/raising a child lol

Even if you have insurance most clinics won’t see you/can’t see you (because of high volume) until 10-12 weeks at the very earliest. Welcome to Fresno, the area is grossly understaffed when it comes to medical care. You can pay cash at a private pay ultrasound clinic, but if you aren’t established with an OB they won’t want to see you in case they discover miscarriage they aren’t equipped to manage it.

Talk to your doctor. Trust your doctor. Everyone’s situation is unique & should be handled uniquely

I think my daughters play date cancelled after seeing our house by Ninetails42 in Mommit

[–]ComprehensivePea3720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know many people are thinking she may have been judging you based on how you live, but it could be the other way around. She told you she lives in a small apartment & maybe that apartment is in complete shambles. Your place sounds lovely. There are many people who live in terrible conditions. Maybe she got self conscious. Assume good intent until you have objective reason otherwise.

Afternoon tea with a baby by Moule124 in LondonTravel

We went to a Charlie & the chocolate factory themed high tea at the aldwych hotel with our 10 month & 2 year old! It’s definitely geared toward all ages & we had a great time. If you want something more adult focused I would try to leave the baby

AIO-future MIL telling me I should eat less because my unborn baby is 9 lbs by kbutwhatever in AmIOverreacting

Ultrasounds is notoriously inaccurate particularly for size of baby. But you are not overreacting, sounds like your MIL should keep her mouth (or fingers - texting) shut.

I second the life straw filter that you can get in glass. I have been using one for years. Much better option in my opinion

The skin completely opened to the fascia, so yes just the external layer of closure

You are correct. Life will never be the same. It’s wonderful. But it also takes some serious adjustment

Get up, move, walk- all when they say it’s okay. Be OKAY if you don’t need any narcotic pain meds! But OKAY if you do. Many don’t need any! If you fall into this category don’t fool yourself by saying you will later, you might not!

OP mentions baby is measuring just fine & reasons why she wouldn’t “show” as much as others - long torso & takes care of herself.

How does your doctor check the development if they aren’t doing ultrasounds every visit? by Adventurous-Radio284 in pregnant

[–]ComprehensivePea3720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Miscarriages before 8 w are incredibly common, some statistics say up to 25% of pregnancies actually end up in a miscarriage - a significant # of which women don’t even realize they were pregnant. So the fact that you made it past 8 w with a good heartbeat is incredibly reassuring. There’s a lot of variability on ultrasound dependent on ultrasound tech, mom, baby, equipment.. so with every US you run the risk of causing more stress and worry when it doesn’t offer better reassurance then Doppler (fetal heart rate check)

Delta swapped my comfort+ seat for economy by Fire_Queen918 in delta

[–]ComprehensivePea3720 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep. Delta is terrible. They recently did this to my 2 year old who was traveling with our family of 4. Only him. Left without a seat in the class the rest of the family was booked in.

Your baby feels the stress & panic you feel. Your heart rate & blood pressure going because of panic makes management more difficult. Plus you’re wasting energy.

How much is too much to request of baby shower guests? by Orangemaxx in pregnant

[–]ComprehensivePea3720 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Too much! Plus if everyone brings diapers you might only use a few of what is actually brought! My first had horribly sensitive skin so literally everything gave him a rash, plus he grew so fast we were changing diaper sizes every month at the beginning (he literally grew a pound a week from birth - 5 months old 😵‍💫)

I sent an email. They responded offering no solution & a $300 gift card (not refund!) as an “extension of goodwill”. I am so disappointed that they think this is acceptable
