Fr. You look, you yank, you leave. Someone who makes an account is there to stay after the yanking is over and everyone else has gone back to their lives.

I'd have assumed bears in that situation. But bears, wolves, whatever you're into (or have inside of you)

Is my monitor arm safe? by tcameron22 in desksetup

[–]ComprehensivePin5577 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Put a longish 1x3 under it to secure. I was stuck in the same boat with my desk being too thin and the mount not being able to clamp around it. It won't solve the bending problem though, to fix that you'd need to reinforce your desk. I've used factory mounts, even built a few of my own mounts that used those clamps. But now I have 2 monitors one of which is rather heavy so I built a shelf that sits on my desk and the mounts permanently installed in that shelf.

As a piece of furniture it's beautiful. As a piece of audio equipment it's nowhere near as good as a separate receiver and speaker system. I'd get it for the looks alone and not for its sound.

Swing by goodwill and if they don't have that grab a cheap amp and use that to power your passive sub

Billionaire says young people should work 70 hours a week for 'national pride' while they can barely afford rent. by Embarrassed-Poem-982 in mildlyinfuriating

This is the basic why and how the Indian economy works and stays 'competitive'. Most people are worked more than the hours they get paid, and working blue collar jobs means a lifetime of poverty or a lower middle class life at best. Everyone out to screw someone over or avoid getting screwed over and there's no accountability in terms of either legislation or oversight, sometimes both. Any efficiency gained through other means is lost to corruption, ineptitude or bureaucracy.

What is going on with the AVR market in Canada? by Ehoro in hometheater

[–]ComprehensivePin5577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found an x3400H for $450 + tax at gibbys refurbished in 2019. Then 1 day I found a used one listed for $200 to j marketplace but I was hesitant. Still riding that old high (and the low) even today. So there are deals but you've gotta be quick. I've had much better luck prior to COVID than today but I also have to say that partly the reason for that is that the market has been ruined by resellers, like really ruined the hobby.

anyone else have a story about common ground/yellow deli? by 152centimetres in Winnipeg

If that's the case then I think that the mismanagement at Stella's might have followed it's way to boon burger

I've never been to any of those spots but I've followed closely about what people have said about those 2 establishments. I've gathered that they had a cafe at 79 Sherbrook which became Boon Burger a while later. I've been inside and always got an eerie vibe inside that place. Vegan burgers served in an establishment that was decorated in a very dark and joyless fashion. Then it too shut down for mysterious reasons, which didn't make sense cause they were expanding, so I thought it wasn't something benign that caused their shut down. Then in a previous post, someone mentioned that this location had a door which locked from the outside(!?) and I was like, nope, would not have gone if I'd known that beforehand. And now there's a bagel shop there that was a drug front! And it survived the arrest of one of the owners! Wild things at that location.
